Leth's POV

I stared into the enchanted mirror, fingers curled into fists as I watched her.

Cinderella.

Even after all these years, she thrived. The people adored her. She's the headmistress of Regal Academy, while I was cast away like I never existed.

"Spying on Cinderella again, Grandpa?"

I turned to see my grandson, Spencer, leaning against the doorway, arms crossed, amusement dancing in his eyes.

"She took everything from me," I muttered. "She and Henry. And now, she plays queen while I am forgotten."

Spencer stepped forward, glancing at the mirror. His gaze flickered past Cinderella and landed on another girl.

"Who's that?" he asked, pointing.

I followed his stare.

Ah. Her.

"That," I said, my lips curling into a smirk, "is Rose Cinderella. Cinderella's granddaughter."

Spencer's expression changed. His usual boredom melted away, replaced by something sharper.

"She's... beautiful."

I arched an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Yes," he said, mesmerized. "I think I'm in love with her."

I studied him carefully. Love? No. Infatuation. And obsession... obsession can be useful.

"Then perhaps," I said, smirking, "we'll make her yours."

Rose's POV

I raced through the streets, Gigi clinging to my shoulder.

"I'm so late! Astoria is going to kill me."

Skidding into an alley, I pulled out my key and held it high.

"Key of portals, open wide, in your power I confide, manifest the light inside!"

A glowing door shimmered into existence.

"Yes! I finally got it right!"

I dashed through, sprinting toward my usual spot. As I neared, I heard voices—familiar ones.

"She's probably shopping for shoes again," Travis snorted.

The others laughed.

"She definitely has a problem," Joy added.

"She can't go five seconds without talking about shoes or her fairytale collection," Ling Ling said.

Astoria sighed. "And don't forget her clumsiness. She's always falling or tripping over something."

More laughter.

I froze behind a pillar. Were they... talking about me?

"Oh, and the way she acts around Hawk?" Travis scoffed. "Like, come on, we all know she has a crush on him. It's embarrassing."
