With a low growl, Tywin turned from his side onto his back again. I looked at him for a while while I put the plate down on the small side table. Then I leaned over and breathed a gentle kiss on his forehead.
"Get up, Tywin."
He hummed again and stirred a little, but didn't open his eyes. I smirked, took the plate and fanned the warm scent from the ham to him with a wave of my hand.
"Breakfast is ready. Well... at least the ham is."
I saw his nose twitch, then he stirred again and opened his eyes with a huge yawn. He looked sleepily back and forth between me and the empty half of the bed, then grinned a little.
"Couldn't stand it next to me anymore, or how should I interpret that now?"
"I thought I'd wake you up in the old familiar way, which you said you always liked. I ventured into the kitchen and roasted some ham, to the confusion of the other maids, because you didn't eat anything last night. Slightly dark, as always. That's the way you like it best."
He sat up straight and leaned into the cushions. Then he took the plate from my hand.
"What have I done to deserve this? I rarely get this much attention, you'd think I was celebrating my name day. Besides, you've never brought me breakfast straight to bed before."
I squatted on the edge of the bed and briefly stroked his cheek with the back of my hand.
"Only the best for my lion."
He paused, looking straight at me.
"What did you just call me?"
I felt the heat shoot into my cheeks and looked away, ashamed.
"Sorry, it just slipped out..."
"There's nothing to forgive, Lena. I like it and I wish you'd call me that more often."
I had to grin and pointed to the ham.
"I hope it's still warm. Because I got lost twice on the way here."
"And again you're diverting from the subject. That's my Lena, as I know her and have come to love her."
He snorted in amusement, then began to eat. I watched him lovingly and just couldn't stop smiling. Tywin Lannister, only just awakened, yet calm himself. A sight to savour, he was so incredibly rare.
"Have you eaten anything yet, Lena?"
"There'll be plenty of time for that later. I have to leave right away so it won't be so noticeable. If I spend the whole day with you, our secret will make the rounds faster than the dirt people constantly carry through the corridors in their boots. I'm right in thinking we'll keep quiet about it, won't we?"
He eyed me for a while, then nodded.
"Tywin, what are we now, anyway?", I finally dared to ask. He finished his ham and put the plate away.
"Officially, nothing but lords and servants, as you've already established yourself. Unofficially, however," he made a quick motion and pulled me to him on the bed, "I'm relatively sure we're together."
I squeaked in fright and in the next moment felt his lips firmly on mine, so that I fell silent.
"Shh... I don't want anyone to hear," he whispered into my ear and gave me a penetrating look. A hot, cold shiver ran down my spine. Totally spellbound by his power over me, I nodded slowly and let him pull me into a more intense kiss again. A storm raged in my stomach as the lion wrapped his arms around me, pulling me tighter. I let it happen, I trusted him. He certainly wouldn't hurt me.
Hands on my hips, he held me tightly in his lap, our heavier breathing mingling. I felt a growing tug in my abdomen and looked at Tywin. I became a little afraid of it, but swallowed it down. This feeling was new to me and grew stronger the longer I looked at him. His eyes had darkened again, his one hand running through my hair.
"You...better be on your way," he whispered with a low growl in his undertone and I flinched, "Or I won't let you go right now..."
Actually, I didn't want to leave. I wanted to stay with him, spend a lot of time with him. But he was right, it was better that way.
"I...will bring you a bowl of warm water and then...something fresh to wear."
He released me and let me stand up.
"Don't make me wait so long."
"Depending on how I get along, I'll try to avoid that, of course, my lion."
I deliberately emphasised the last two words. We both exchanged a last affectionate smile with each other, then I ran out of the tower again.
Carrying a bowl of water and a soft cloth, I returned to him briefly. He slipped out of his vest and I couldn't help but glance at him.
"Do you like what you see?" he asked without turning around. I heard the smirk in his voice. At first I looked down at the floor, caught, then I briefly put my arms around him from behind and stood a little on my tiptoes to press a kiss to his bare shoulder.
"I'll be back later today."
"I'll have you called if I need anything," he replied, turning to me. Then he laughed softly.
"The blush on your cheeks suits you."
I had to shake my head to take my eyes off his torso. I swallowed hard and turned away.
"See you later," I muttered and hurriedly walked away. This tingling sensation I felt at the sight made me uncomfortable. I would have liked to talk about it with someone who had experience. But of course that was not possible. Or maybe it was? ...
