It felt like a big weight placed on my chest as we crossed the palace. All the eyes were on us, judging me , piercing myself from inside in every way possible. I couldn't understand what to do. Warm tears were streaming down my eyes. I was shivering badly from inside.
A soft yet tight grip was on my waist, leading me the way and supporting me. It was none but the man who saved me today again. It was the same man who saved me that day, married me without thinking about himself , his royal blood. And again today he saved me, he is leaving his palace, his people for just a mere maid like me .
I am nothing infront of him. No nobility, no speciality and nothing.
Sometimes I feel like a forced taboo of his life. Why am I here? What is even my role? I am just creating troubles in everyone's life constantly.
" I...am sorry" My lips trembled as I forced out a whispered apology, the words barely audible.
His eyes fell on me immediately but I lost my courage to match the gaze . I was dying with shame. Even more than that. I had no words to say anything.
He held me tighter and whispered in my ears " nothing is your fault payal "
I pressed my eyelids together making some more fresh tears fall. He won't accept and I can't ever forgive myself.
I pushed him slightly and said , " humne yeh kya kardiya rajkumar.....humne toh apse apka sab chhin liya" a heartwrenching sob hardened my voice.
( What have I done prince....I can't ever forgive myself....I snatched everything from you )
He came to hold me again but I stepped back " nahi... humein mar jana chahiye tha us talwar se hi...humne kya kardiya...humne apse apka ghar tak chhin liya " i held my head.
( No...I should have died with that sword...what have I done? I snatched even your home from you )
" Payal" he held me tightly this time, not letting the grip fall. " You are my home now "
His words hit on my heart directly. He looked at me straightly and said, " I am leaving everything for you. Now I have nothing without you. "
" Don't make me weak" I heard his last words. His eyes fixed on mine. " I have nothing, no one without you payal. All I need is you. Please don't make me weak " his voice cracked a little. Even though he held a tough face but his voice was showing the difference.
I gulped and without thinking anything I replied, " I won't leave you. I can't leave you." A sob force stopped my next words.
" Humara bhi apke alawa hai kaun?" I choked out.
( Whom do I have without you?)
He washed away my tears saying, "hum kafi hai na ek dusre ke liye? " A small smile danced on the corner of his lip. But I couldn't match the smile.
