" She? She is going to die in my hands " The King's voice reverberated through the chamber. His sword hovered perilously close to Payal's delicate neck. A gasp escaped from Payal's trembling lips.

Writer's pov
" If she gets even a small scratch, no one will remain standing with their heads attached "
Veer's voice echoed in the royal hall, making everyone a glimpse of fear. But Veer was not fearing anything, not even standing infront of his linage.
There was a glance of disbelief in Hridayan's eyes. He could not believe that his own blood was standing against to him. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he swallowed hard and asked, "you dare to defy your own blood? Veer?"
" Leave my payal " instead of answered to the king, Veer commanded, his eyes blazing with determination.
Maharaj pressed his lips together tightly, his hands were aching to give a scratch on payal's throat at anytime but he controlled himself somehow. He opened his mouth once again and stated, " you are my son and a king's son cannot marry a commoner. Our bloodline demands nobility."
Veer's heart pounded with disdain. He retorted, " love is the biggest nobility for me"
Maharaj narrowed his eyes and his grip tightened on the sword eventually making payal gasp little louder this time.
" The thing you are calling love is just her trap. " Hridayan's eyes fell on payal as he spoke more, "it was her job to trap you in the game of love. It is not love veer"
Veer's heart surged with the rage upon hearing those words from his father. He couldn't bear anyone questioning his love. His lips curved into a smirk as he retorted,
"Clearly, a man like you sees anything as a game. But listen, not everyone plays a game like you." Veer's words carried the weight of truth, echoing from his heart.
" The way you're pressurising your son for this marriage is also a game. " He added.
Veer took a glance at Payal's throat. The Sharpe blade of the sword was just few inches away from her flesh. His heart was beating rapidly and he was becoming furious and nervous with each minutes but he kept all those emotions stuffed within himself and said,
" Just leave her "
This time his voice came out being little heavier, little tougher & colder as well. From inside he was scared. He could not wait for Payal have against of his arms. He could not see her standing around the danger.
His teeth bit the tongue inside. There was a salty ache gnawed at his heart. Why didn't he come earlier? Why didn't he take more care of her? If he could have come little earlier today, he wouldn't have to see Payal like this.
The same thought was constantly poking in his mind while all of a sudden maharaj loosened the grip on Payal.
" Veer, come back to your senses. I am telling you again--"
" I said leave her " veer roared, didn't even give maharaj time to finish.
And with that Hridayan's hands trembled a little, he ended up leaving Payal. And just as payal get rid of his grip, she ran to veer.
