"PEPE! CANDY!" Crystal exclaimed, still peaking down from the edge. Pepe was still crying, with her eyes shut tight and her face buried in her fluff.

"Shh shh shh. It's okay, Pepe.." Candy said in a soft voice as she rocked Pepe in her arms. Pepe peaked from her fluff and stopped crying. She looked up at Candy. Pepe gasped.

"YOU SAVED ME FWOM DA MONSTER TWEE HOUSE, CANDY!" Pepe exclaimed. She hugged Candy.

Crystal jumped down the hole and landed on her paws. "Candy, You saved her! I can't believe it!" she exclaimed. Candy's jaw dropped.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I'M NICE TOO, YA KNOW!" Candy yelled. Pepe hugged her tighter,

"Well, based on your personality, it seems that you wouldn't save someone and get yourself all dirty." Crystal snorted back, and looked Candy up and down.

Candy was fully covered in thick, old, smelly wood dust. She was also about to go over and slap Crystal so hard, but Pepe interrupted her.

"WELL, thanks for saving my life, Candy!" Pepe said, happily.

"You're welcome, I guess!" Candy said, shrugging, like it was nothing, even if it made her feel like she had redeemed herself.

"Pepe," Crystal said, walking up to her. "What in the world happened here?"

Crystal, Candy, and Pepe looked back at the old tree house, which was now on fire.

"THE TREE HOUSE!!!" Pepe yelled. She started to run towards it, but Candy stepped in front of her.

"NO PEPE!" Candy yelled "If you go back, you could get severely burned, or fainted...or-"

"B-b-but that was m-my home, and Z-Zappy's home..." Pepe whined, as she started to cry, and Crystal can up and hugged her.

"Do not worry, Pepe..." Crystal comforted Pepe. "Who would have done this?..." she whispered to herself, then brought her attention back to Pepe. "Pepe, we need to know what happened before we got here...But first, we should move a bit away from the fire..."

Candy nodded in agreement, and they walked to a nearby empty plot of grass and sat down next to a berry bush.

In the shadows, behind the flaming treehouse, sat a shadowy figure, glaring at Candy, and Pepe, silently cursing to themselves while grabbing its fuzzy, yellow tail.

"Soon.....I will get you soon enough, Candy...." The shadowy figure whispered to themselves as he slipped back into the shadows of the forest, out of sight.
