The castle was cold and dense.
A bad mood was creeping down the hallway, unhappy.
Hewa entered the kitchen and carefully started to boil hot water. While she waited, she stirred a bowl of eggs and cinnamon; dipping bread inside and onto a pan. French toast. Her favorite. The toast was done but she still waited for the water to boil, so she cut and washed some cauliflower.
A perfect, balanced meal for an on edge but perfect Espeon.
She heard footsteps down the hall and a yawn. Roan walked into the kitchen. Roan herself was pleasantly surprised.
"Oh! Ms.Hewa! I wasn't expecting you up this early. (And cooking too...)"
Hewa smiled cooly. "Have a seat, Roan. The kitchen island, we don't need to dirty the master dinner table. I made french toast and cauliflower. Tea will not be done for another minute."
Roan climbed onto the seat of the kitchen island and Hewa passed her a plate of food; French toast with lightly dusted powdered sugar and fresh cauliflower.
"Go on, don't be shy."
Roan picked up her fork and started to eat calmly. The tea kettle started to shift.
"So Roan, you know you are my best friend-assistant in the whole Pokeverse and I would never betray you for anything." Hewa told her as she watched her eat.
"Gosh Hewa, that's sweet!" Roan beamed happily.
"It is, isn't it? After all, you're not like the betraying back-stabbing brat Crystal."
Something was wrong.
The tea kettle started to whistle softly.
Roan gulped her toast. "Never Ms.H-Hewa. I would never act the same way as her!"
"Good. SO THEN TELL ME ROAN," Hewa suddenly boomed as the kettle's whistle grew louder. Her tone stayed the same. "HOW DID BLAZE GAIN BACK HIS MEMORIES? WHEN YOU ASSURED ME THAT THE POTION SPELL WOULD NOT WEAR OFF SO EASILY?"
Steam poured out of the tea kettle and Hewa turned around and moved it to an empty part of the stove. Back to Roan, Hewa saw her sneaking out when she tripped. The doors closed by themselves (*cough* Hewas powers *cough*). Roan scooted her back to the door and gazed up at Hewa.
"Tell me, Roan." She whispered.
"I- uh- don't- uh-em- loooooooveeeee?" Roan replied sheepishly.
The room went silent.
"Love." Hewa repeated. "Love, love, love, love~ LOVE?!" Her tone changed.
Roan squeaked. "Wait whaaaat? No not-"
"YOU'RE TELLING ME, THAT THE POTION, WHOS RECIPES WAS MADE BY THE LEGENDARY YVELTAL HIMSELF, WAS CURED WITH LOVE?!"
"Wh-who told you the recipe was from Yveltal?" Roan asked.
Hewa stared at her. "Excuse me? You did."
"Oh was it." Roan nervously hand flipped and stood up. "ThatwasjustacoveruptotestmynewpotionandIdidn'ttellyoubecauseIknewyouweren'tgoingtoexceptit DON'T HURT ME!"
Hewa stared at her with disbelief... Then smiled. She made her way back to the stove.
"Come now, you didn't finish your food."
Roan blinked. Hewa started to pour the water in two separate cups before adding the tea bags. Roan then cautiously climbed back up on the chair and slowly chewed her once fresh and yummy food, now bitter and flavourless. Hewa passed her a cup and started to eat herself.
After a few minutes of silence, Hewa spoke. "You know, I've never met your parents. I heard they were very lovely and charming."
Roan quickly sat her head up and gulped.
"I should invite them over! You know, have some of your famous Green Spice tea, maybe some biscuits... In fact, let's invite Hew too! No, what's even better, having a family reunion! When our so-called "Heroes" arrive to stop us, we'll invite them for tea."
"No no no no no no! We are NOT inviting my parents over for ANYTHING-"
"Well you don't get to make the RULES, do you?" Hewa smiled, leaning over. "I get to choose if I want the tea party or not. Luckily for you, I do not. So how are we going to stop this? You, are going to KILL the "Heroes" ONCE AND FOR ALL."
"N-NO! NOT KILL! ANYTHING BUT KILLING!" Roan flinched.
"Fine. You are going to STOP them. Stop them from reaching the castle and having the tea party. Stop them from stopping me! And by Arceus, you better make sure THAT and Phantom's curse NEVER wears away or gets cured because I..."
Hewa mumbled something under her breath and started to levitate her cup. She opens the door and walks out of the kitchen.
"Clean up the kitchen please and meet me in my office when you're finished. I have some ideas."
Roan sighed and took her plate to the sink. As she washed the dishes, Roan smiled and narrowed her eyes.
They won't know what's coming.
