Pepe laid on the grass quietly. She watched as Blaze and Zappy had begun to gather planks of wood and set up a base for their new and improved treehouse, nearly about to nod off as Blaze began arguing with Zappy again.
And don't get her wrong, she was excited to have the treehouse back! And a new one! Not the old, splinter-y one! This would be a much better one! With new boards! And now ladder steps to get into it! And a new tree! And a new room to paint and decorate, yay! But still, something was bothering her, deep down.
What was the use of all these glorious new things if she had no friends to share them with? Sure, she had some old neighbor kids she'd sometimes play with at their old treehouse, but they had moved trees; they were still nearby, but in a new neighborhood. She'd have to meet new kids, make new friends, take time out of her day to build up those friendships.
Not to mention the fact she could no longer see her super-duper best friend, Plucky Ducky, anymore. Not unless she went to the big city! And last time she went there, that weird voice took over! And apparently, everyone got attacked (or so the voice tells her, she doesn;'t exactly trust it... yet)! And being attacked is noooooo fun!
I miss Plucky... Pepe thought to herself, her eyes fluttering open and closed. I wish everyone was still here... I miss Willow, and Crystal, and Plucky and Storm and Phantom and Plucky and PLUCKYYYYYY!
Tears were coming to her eyes as she shoved her face in her paws. But, she was suddenly awoken by the sound of large wingbeats in the air.
Pepe raised her head to see a large Braviary flying in the sky, lowering itself slowly towards the grass, loud as can be. Blaze and Zappy also noticed, stopping their argument for a moment to look at the mysterious bird.
"WHAT THE FFFFFFUUUUUDGE NUGGETS???!?" Blaze yelled over the noise of the bird's wings, leaping down from the treehouse platform and running over to Pepe, quickly plucking her from the warm grass.
The bird landed in front of the two of them, cocking its head, "Squuu?"
"Wh-" Blaze began as Zappy joined them.
"What's all the commo-?" Zappy began, glancing at the bird when two Pokemon suddenly emerged from behind it. Zappy gasped. "Willow?? And- And, Storm..?"
"WILLOW!" Pepe cried, breaking free from Blaze's grip and skipping over to Willow, jumping into her arms as they laughed happily, spinning in circles.
Willow snuggled the little Eevee, "Oh, Pepe! I missed you! Even if it's only been, what? A few hours?"
"Too long!" Pepe whined, snuggling Willow more as she smiled, petting Pepe's head.
Zappy looked at Willow before staring at Storm, who was rubbing his head. Zappy gave him a confused look, "Why are you-"
Blaze stepped forward, "What the heck, you two?! You can't be here right now! In case you forgot, there's still a w-a-r going on around us!"
"...why'd you just spell out wa-" Storm began before Zappy shoved his paw in his face.
"ShHhHshush shshhH!" He replied.
Blaze rolled his eyes, "Zappy doesn't want Pepe knowing what w-a-r is or v-o-i-l-e-n-c-e... which is kinda understandable honestly."
