Chapter 28: Mysterious Potion

Nine months ago...

Flirteon was sitting on a bench in the city of Yewnork, waiting for someone impatiently with two Rawst berries. Was it an Espeon that finally loved him back? Suddenly, footsteps from beside him got louder and pokemon sat down next to him.

"Hey! You were able to make it!" Flirteon cheered happily.

"Mm hmm." Blaze nodded. "I can't be long or else Zappy's gonna freak out."

Flirteon handed him a Rawst berry and the two started munching down. Blaze then sighed and stopped eating.

"Thank you for inviting me; I haven't talked to you in a while." He started to say. "In fact, I haven't talked to anyone in awhile. I can't bring myself to talk to Zappy after what he did and this stupid war is keeping me to talk to everybody else." Blaze sighed, "If only I could talk to her again..."

Flirteon looked down. "I know you and Blister were really close and I just thought you just needed someone to talk to about it, a little cheering up?"

"Well, I don't really want to talk about her right now." Blaze responded, staring at his berry. "I could use a little cheering up though; something to get my mind off her. Do you want to go do something?"

Taking the last bite of his Rawst berry, Flirteon looked at him and smiled. "Yeah, of course! Let's go find something to do before other eeveelutions see two Flareon's hanging out. You never know how judgey they'll be after what happened before the war started."

And so Blaze and Flirteon messed around town; pranking other pokemon crossing their path and heading to a Pokercade just to try and beat the high score of Just Like Ember by Shinx on Dance Dance Pokelution. After a few hours the two were walking down the street, laughing.

"That Bellsprout's face when we made him think it was raining embers!" Blaze laughed.

"It was funny how gullible he was." Flirteon snickered. Then he stopped and turned to him. "It wasn't funny when the Victreebel came and almost killed us."

Blaze stopped laughing too. "Yeah..."

Silence infected Blaze and Flirteon

"Oh well, it's not like we couldn't have fought back!" Flirteon remembered, smiling. "He was part grass type, grass is weak against fire!"

"Wow. I forgot how you could either be the smartest or the dumbest pokemon I've ever met." Blaze said sarcastically but smiling.

Flirteon playfully pushed him. "Hey, I'm not dumb! I can just be way below average." He corrected.

Blaze shook his head. "Whatever you say dude."

He looked at the sky, seeing it turn darker and darker. Blaze sighed.

"I should probably get going. Zappy's going to get worried." Blaze mumbled to Flirteon

Flirteon nodded. "Well, okay then. See you another day!"

He started to walk off.

A second later, Blaze caught up to him and tapped on his back. Flirteon stopped and turned around.

"Hey... Thanks. I needed this." Blaze thanked him.
