Finn pov

I woke up after the storm to a bright sunny day. The kids were awake in bed giggling to one another whilst Nessa slept peacefully on my chest.

"Why don't you go get some breakfast" i suggested quietly.

"OK daddy" Lydia said

"OK dad" Dan replied. They left the room and it was only as i looked at my sleeping girlfriend that I realised what just happened. I lay in shock and then felt her stir

"Morning" she muttered kissing my jaw

"Did you hear that?" I asked in amazement

"Hear what?" She asked

"Don't be mad. Dan just called me dad" I told her. I expected her to be upset with me but instead she smiled brightly and kissed me patiently

"Why would i be mad? I'm happy he finally has someone who can be a real dad to him. If you don't want him-" I stopped her there

"I'm happy too" I told her. She smiled and kissed me again. That morning was to make up for the robbery of the night before when the kids had to share our bed so we had no privacy. When we finished, we got dressed and walked downstairs to find the kids fully dressed eating pancakes and drinking milk

"Morning mum" Dan said to her as she kissed his head. She walked round to Lydia and kissed her head aswell as she did every morning

"Morning mummy" Lydia said smiling. I watched as Nessa froze to her spot

"I'm sorry what?" She asked in shock

"Can I call you mummy?" Lydia asked.

"And can I call you dad?" Dan asked. Me and nessa looked at one another before smothering the kids in kisses

"Of course you can" we said simultaneously. We got on with breakfast and nothing could wipe the smiles from our faces. However I had a plan to make them even bigger. The girls went upstairs to get ready so it was just me and Dan

"I wanted to ask you something. I need your aproval" I said

"I like where this is going" he said nodding

"Do you give me your permission to propose to your mother?" I asked him. His eyes widened and he was jumping in his seat

"Yeah" he yelled excitedly. I put my finger to my lips and chucked

"Thanks buddy. But remember we gotta be quiet. Its a secret so no telling anyone" i told him

"What about Lyd?" He asked

"She already knows. I've asked the both of you if it's alright and she is perfectly happy with it" now all I needed was a ring and for her to say yes

Tommy pov

I got a call from finn as I was in my office. He was telling me he wanted me go with him to pick out a ring since he had no idea what he was doing. I teased him a little but then put down the phone and walked into the betting den to find John

"You owe me a fiva" I told him pointing at him

"No fucking way" he said in shock

"What?" Aunt pol asked confused

"Me and John made a bet. I get 5 quid if finn proposed to Nessa before the end of summer holidays" I told her

"He's proposed?" Polly asked extatic

"Not yet. But I'm going with him to help him pick out a ring" I replied trying not to smirk. After work, me and finn met at the garrison. We sat in the back

"You got her size" i asked

"Yep"

"Budget?" I asked

"Don't have one" he said making me smirk and ruffle his hair. He really was in love. We went down to London jewellery store. Best in the UK. Although we shelbys get everything for free, we pay for engagement rings. I know money isn't everything and money shouldn't matter blah blah blah. But at the end of the day, we want to spoil our girls as much as possible.

Finn picked out a gorgeous ring and payed 5 grand for it. Very expensive but he didn't care. Didn't even hesitate when he heard the price, just payed the man and that was that. As we were in the car home, i asked

"How are you doing it?"

"The field where we first met behind our house, looks beautiful at sunset. I'm gonna take her on a walk and when we get to the hill, I'll propose. It had the most gorgeous view aswell. Facing away from the grime of the city" he replied" I couldn't help but be proud of who my youngest brother had become. He was a man now. A proper man. A family man

Nessa pov

Finn had gone to London with Tommy for the afternoon. Said he would be back by 6 for tea. It worried me because he didn't tell me why. I know the business he does and I can't help but panick every time he is out somewhere with his brothers. They are lovely and I get on with them, but there work scares me. I don't judge them based on their job. But it does put me on edge when finn isn't telling me something. I automatically think danger

I looked after the kids all day but it wasn't hard. They are well behaved and although there were maids, I hadn't got used to the whole being rich thing. Still felt bad when i had staff do something for me never mind look after the kids. We spent all day at the park and then got some ice cream on the way back. At half 5, the door opened and I heard finn walk in

"I'm home" he yelled. Me and the kids were in their room playing battles. They were soldiers and I was the enemy. It was fun. They ran downstairs to greet their father and I followed. I watched as finn crouched down to lift them both up in his arms

"How's my family?" He asked

"Excellant. You're home early" I stated happily

"I wanted to see my gorgeous girlfriend and children" he said smirking

"We killed mum" Dan replied a little out of context

"So then she shot us just before she died" Lydia said excitedly. I watched as Finns face went to aoo kinds of confusion

"I'll explain later" i said kissing his cheek and checking to make sure he wasn't hurt. He chuckled and spun me around with his hands on my waist

"I'm fine. Everything we did was perfectly legal. I promise" he told me kissing my forehead. I nodded trusting him and then we were called for tea.

After tea, finn stood up and took my hand

"Let's go for a walk" he said

"Can we come?" Lyd asked. I watched as Dan elbowed her in the ribs and gave her a look. Her face showed realisation

"Actually I'm too tired. You two go" she said clearly fake yawning. I watched as finn rolled his eyes but smirked. We didn't need coats in the sun. It was 8 o'clock and the sun was setting. I was wearing a red summer dress and he was in shirt and trousers. We looked so handsome always but especially in this lighting. We walked hand in hand up the hill behind out house and stood looking at the view

"It's gorgeous isn't it" I said not taking my eyes off the scenary

"I can think of something more gorgeous" he said

"Like what?" I asked. I turned to face him only to see him on one knee. He grabbed my hand gently

"After I met you right here, my life hasn't been the same. Me and Lydia are not alone anymore. The house and our lives are so much more full of laughter and happiness. It baffles me how I ever got by without you. I love Dan like my own son and when he gave his approval I was so happy. I love you Nessa Johnson. Be my wife?" I was in complete and utter shock. Tears ran from my eyes slowly as my cheeks blushed

"Always" i said quietly smiling. The nervousness that was once on his face had dissapeared and it was now pure joy. He slipped the ring on my finger and lifted me up, spinning me around as he kissed me patiently. He was my everything
