today was saturday, and freelancer had made sure not to make any plans, since a month ago they had told caelum that on their next free saturday they'd take him to the movies! a place he'd never been before but had always wanted to go.

"you ready to go?" freelancer asked caelum, he nodded his head "cool, let's go" freelancer spoke again, before the pair walked out to freelancer's car. they helped caelum climb in, since he'd never been in a car before. "oh wow! what's this button do?" he asked, "it's to turn the radio on" freelancer chuckled, "ohhhh what's a radio?" caelum asked, his head tilted to the side, like a little puppy. "it's how you listen to music!" freelancer replied, as they handed caelum their phone, and gave caelum free rain of their spotify.

twenty five minutes later

"right! we're here" freelancer smiled, they had decided they were going to take caelum to go and see a re show of despicable me, (don't judge me, that movie is the best 😌✋🏼). "yayyyy!!!" caelum exclaimed as he climbed out of the car. "can i hold your hand? i always get nervous when i'm in the big world" he nervously spoke. freelancer smiled, he was literally the cutest soul. "of course" they replied, interlocking their fingers with his as they walked into the cinema.

since caelum was only visible to freelancer they only had to buy one ticket, hoping that there would be a free seat next to their seat, which there usually was, when sitting in the premium seats, where they're only in two's, people usually liked to sit next to someone they knew, rather than a complete stranger. "do you want popcorn? and a soda?" freelancer asked "oooo! yes! i love the popcorn you make!!!" caelum exclaimed, as their thousandth smile of the day fell onto freelancer's face.

"i'll take a large salted popcorn, with a large Pepsi please, oh! and a packet of sour patch kids!" freelancer spoke, as they got their wallet from their pocket and grabbed their card out of it, "here you go" the person behind the food counter smiled, as freelancer tapped their card onto the wireless card reader and waited for the 'APPROVED' to appear on the small screen.

"here, I can hold something!" caelum spoke, trying to take the soda from freelancer, just as freelancer was about to hand it to him, they realised how odd it would look, just seeing a large Pepsi floating next to them, "no cae, you can't, you can in the theatre, but not outside" they pouted, to which caelum returned one.

-

"here, you sit there and I'll sit here" freelancer spoke, pointing to their seats. "oooo these looks fancy!" caelum exclaimed as he plonked himself down onto the seat closest to the wall. "oh my gosh! they're so comfy" he smiled, as he got himself comfy. freelancer simply smiled before handing him the popcorn, placing the drink into the cup holder, and sitting down themselves.

"what's that?" he asked, and pointed down towards the sour patch kids, "ohh, you wanna try one? they're just candy" they smiled as they opened the packet and offered onto the caelum. "yes!!! i love candy!" he smiled, reaching into the packet and pulling out a blue one. before popping it into his mouth. "ew! i don't like that!! why's it taste so weird?" he whined, as he grabbed the drink and gulped down nearly a quarter of the cup. freelancer laughed in amusement.

thirty seven minutes later

"what? no!! he cannot steal the moon!!! that's so bad!!! we need that!" caelum exclaimed, "cae, it's a movie honey, it's not real" freelancer smiled, as they rested their hand on caelum's knee. caelum turned to face freelancer, his face looked as though he had just seen a ghost. i smiled at him, to which he responded with a less convincing one.

an hour later

the end credits were rolling, caelum had fallen asleep about forty minutes into the movie. something he often did when they watched movie's at home.

freelancer smiled over at caelum, soft snores emerging from his lips. a sigh escaped freelancers lips, as they waited for everyone to exit the cinema before waking caelum up.
