"I'll get you some clothes, and we can put the wet ones in the dryer." I nod, the cold has sucked all my energy from me.
Jason emerges from his room, and hands me a pair of sweatpants, and a maroon sweater. He says, "I don't know if they'll fit you, but at least you'll be warm."
"Thank you." I take the clothes out of his hand, and I change in his bathroom.
After I change, I step out into the hallway, his clothes dwarf me. I can see by the twinkle in his blue eyes, that he doesn't know whether to laugh at how ridiculous I look, or how cute I look in his clothes. I hand him my sopping wet clothes, and he puts them in the dryer.
I sit down on the couch, crossing my legs when Jason sits down next to me, after he changes.
"What should we watch?" I ask him, as I laugh a blanket over both of us.
"Horror? Mystery? Romance?" He suggests.
"I don't know." I shrug my shoulders, not caring whatever movie gets put on.
"Come on Viviana, pick." Jason says.
"No, I can't decide."
"Why is it so hard for girls to pick?" Jason wonders out loud.
"If it's so easy, why don't you do it?" I retort.
"Fine, but if you don't like it, sucks for you."
After a moment of consideration, I say, "I trust you."
He flips through channels, until he finds the movie he's been looking for.
He puts on Pride and Prejudice.
I look at him, and he's already looking at me for my reaction. I smile and say, "It's not as good as the book, but you have a good taste in movies Jay. All we need to do know is order food."
"I picked the movie, you pick the food."
"Fine. Chinese or pizza?" I ask.
"You choose Viv."
"Chinese it is."
My hands are frozen, but I still manage to handle my phone to call the Chinese place and order.
"The place said that it'll be here in 20 minutes."
"There's cash on the counter for it."
"Okay." I say, but Jason should know me better, that I'll pay whenever I get the chance. I still owe him for the flowers for my parents.
The rain hasn't stopped pouring down on Gotham City, and I can't seem to warm up.
We both reach for the remote to turn the volume back, but Jason immediately retracts his hand when he feels my hands.
"Jeez Viviana! Are you like a vampire or something?" He asks with a laugh. "Come here, you're freezing, why didn't you say something?"
"Jason, I'm always cold." I ignore his request.
He rolls his eyes at my stubbornness, and scoops me up, while I squeak out my denials. He's tucked me into his side, and he's like a heater.
"Better?" He asks.
I nod into his side, and he just chuckles at me.
I'm entrapped in the movie scenes when Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth are stuck in the rain, and he proposes to her the first time. It's in the worst imaginable way, as he insults her family, but still expects Elizabeth to marry him.
The doorbell rings, I'm drawn out of my thoughts.
I pay for our dinner with the card Bruce gave me, I know I must look ridiculous when I answer the door, but I'm at the point where I don't care anymore.
