I lied.
I didn't want to go to college.
That was my first reaction, as I showed up for my 8 am class.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Why was I an overachiever?
Jason just laughed at me this morning, when I had done nothing but complain.
He just looked at me, and laughed because I was the one who wanted to live a normal life.
I stuck out my tongue at him several times.
Jason goes to bed early, and he's an early riser.
I'm the exact opposite, I'm a night owl, and I sleep in as much as I can.
So I regret signing up for a college class so early in the morning.
I sat in the middle of the room, near the exit just in case.
It would be nice to live a life where you didn't enter a room, and look for all the exits, prepared for the worst.
I was surprisingly the first one in the room, except for the professor. People started to trickle in minute by minute.
I got odd looks, because people recognized me, but I mostly ignored them.
To quiet the chatter within the room, the teacher, Mr. Bartes, cleared his throat. "Welcome to your freshman Organic Chemistry class. Today, we're going over the syllabus and the coursework for the next semester-"
My phone dings, and I slowly turn it over to see what it was. Several other kids do the same, and I almost die on the inside. Not again.
My professor looks down to his phone, "Okay class, we have to evacuate this area, Mr. Freeze is back."
There's a collective amount of moans and groans.
Most Gothamites are used to always have their lives interrupted by villains, but seriously? On the first day of school?
Another day, another villain.
Villains don't rest, so why should justice?
Stop, it's too early in the morning to be saying corny hero stuff like this.
Tim hadn't even had his coffee yet.
Everyone files out of the room, and starts to head towards the panic shelters. I slip away, and get into my suit.
Dark Web was needed.
Mr. Freeze was robbing a bank, how original.
The villain kept bouncing back between Central City and Gotham, because of his rivalry with Captain Cold, so you never really knew when he was going to strike next.
But he liked drama, and he liked making problems.
I'm outside of the bank, watching from a roof across the street.
Red Robin gets here first, and Red Hood and Nightwing arrived at the same time.
"Where's Robin?" I asked.
Nightwing piped up. "Little D wanted to come, but Bruce complained that he's missing too many school days."
"Bet it was fun telling Demon-" I glared at Red Hood, but he corrects himself "-Damian that."
"Come on, we don't have time to waste." Red Robin says, and starts grappling towards Gotham City Bank.
Nightwing and Red Robin approach the door, but are knocked back when Mr. Freeze bursts through them.
