"I don't want to," I say while he unwraps the burger in front of me.

"Believe me, you need to try this."

"Why?" I ask.

"Because it's something you need to eat before you die,"

"I won't die in a long long time so I can try it later,"

"Come on Malena! Just do it," he insists.

I grab the disgusting thing with my hand and take a look at it. Before I open my mouth, I shut my eyes hard. I slowly move the food towards my mouth and even slower I take the first bite. It is ... okay.
But something on my body tells me to eat more. It's delicious.

"Do you like it?" Ethan asks, he seems amused bt my reaction.

"Yeah," I say giving it another bite "I don't know why I haven't ate this before."

"I don't know either"

We were back at his house, after a day of watching movies and eating burgers.
It's amazing how he makes me feel, everytime we touch I feel butterflies in my stomach and now we hold hands a lot, so that means a bunch of feelings inside of me. This is all new for me, it's crazy how he's changed me. I know for a fact I'm not in love with him, but what is this that I'm feeling?
If love was mesured in levels and the final one would be being in love, I would totally be in the penultimate level. Is it weird to compare love to levels? Yes it is, but then again, I'm weird too.

"Can you drive me home? I don't want my mom to worry about me, besides I skipped school today and if she finds out-" I begin to panick.

"She won't, I already talked to my cousin. Let's go."

The ride from his house to mine wasn't long, maybe it was but we were too concentrated on laughing and singing that we didn't noticed. He makes me smile so much, unbelievable.

"Can I meet your mom?" He asks.

My heart dropped for a second. I never invited a boy to my house, my parents only know girl friends of mine.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah," he licks his lips "you already met my parents and I should met yours,"

I grab the keys from my bag and open the door, I leave the keys on the counter and Ethan follows me.
I slowly enter the kitchen and see my mother, "mom?"

"Hi honey" she turns around and sees Ethan "I didn't know you were going to bring a friend home! Hi!"

He's looking nervous as hell.

"Hello, I'm Ethan, it's nice to meet you Ms. Mendi,"

"You can call me Catherine, it's nice to meet you too Ethan." My mom can't hide her smile, she is so happy. I love her. I love how she's happy because she knows I'm happy.

I show Ethan my house, downstairs and upstairs. My brother and him knew each other already, Noah didn't seem happy at all, and Ethan's smile faded when he saw him.

My dad really liked him because they talked about football and both of them are big fans of the same team. My dad always asked me if I had a boyfriend or if I was dating someone or even if I liked someone, and the answer was always the same one: no, so I know that he's happy now because the answer has changed.

"Ethan would you like to stay for dinner tonight?" My mom asks smiling at him.

He looks at me and I nod.

"If it doesn't bother, I'd love to Ms. Mendi, thank you," he kept talking to my dad about sports.

I get up and help my mom cooking.

"I like him," she says looking at what she's preparing.

"Me too" I smile.

During dinner my parents asked Ethan about school, college, what is like to live here and more.

And then my mom asked us "so, are you two dating?" I smiled and so did he, "yes, we are" I answered.

When he told them he was the son of the Dolan's they got so excited. "We're all going to be a family!" My dad exclaimed, it was so funny.

We finished eating and Ethan helped my mom with the dishes even though she told him it was okay. Finally she gave in and he did the dishes.

"Ethan is leaving," I tell my parents. They say goodbye to him and even hug him. I guess they really like him. It made me kind of sad that he's leaving but it's a school night so I'm seeing him again tomorrow.

I walk him towards his car, "goodbye Malena, see you at school."

"Bye Ethan, see you tomorrow." And he gives me a kiss and leaves.

The more time I spend with him, the more close I am to the final level
