I don't know what exactly it was but I was so restless all through the night , my mind just keeps pondering about so many things and by the time it was dawn I was wide awake on the bed beside Desmond who was sound asleep

I decided to get some water from the kitchen but on my way downstairs I heard Dr Archibong's voice in FiFi's room and it looked like he was trying to wake her up

I was worried she might be in trouble after yesterday's disagreement, I crept slowly to her door and stood beside it, the door wasn't fully closed so I could hear better if I was standing closer

"Fiona sweetie wake up "

"Why!" She squirmed

"We need to talk before I leave for work"

"If you want to scold me dad just leave a message and I will take note of it when am awake "

"This is important Fiona, you need to get up am running late for work "

She grumbled and yawn loudly.
I couldn't see her but I can just imagine her stretching and yawning

"Honey! I know you are very upset about the whole situation, I wish there was a better way to go about it but there's none. You have to help me to make this work"

"I don't get you dad . Make what work , you act as if am a nutcase and I need to be tamed but am not that stupid dad, am really trying to put my life together..... it would have been better if you had asked for my own opinion about my life before making such drastic decisions for me"

"You have not been on your best behavior Fiona , we wouldn't have to go down this road if you had just been a good daughter and listen to grandma "

"What exactly did grandma complain about because I really can't tell what I did wrong "

"Let start with you dropping out of college ,you pulled out just like that and gave up on everything. Do you expect a pat on the back for that "

"There's been a lot going on in my life dad and if you have been available maybe all this wouldn't have happened "

"So it's my fault that you made bad choices "

"No but it's rather too late to be making amendments. You can't force me to be someone am not "

"Am not trying to force you  to be anything. I just don't want you to think that I gave up on you. " he sighed
"So maybe You're right , it might be too late to start making up for the past but am going to do everything possible to make sure that you get the best "

"It doesn't have to be here daddy. I can still get the best in London "

"Am not taking that risk again . You cannot continue to waste your time on silly things. I want you here with me, I thought you want that too "

"When I was eight , maybe this would have been a terrific idea but not when am about to turn twenty and you're asking me to the leave the life I have built behind "

"Frankly there's nothing left for you in London "
She grunts

"No that's not true, I am Applying for film school this year dad and I work as a lifeguard at the reservation center, what about my friends, my co workers my team? What about grandma?"

"It was grandma's idea that you come live here with us"
She fell silent

"I don't want us to argue back and forth over this Fiona, this is for your own good. If you can at least try to make an effort to enjoy what we have here you'll be happy and contented with what we can offer you here. Remember am here for you for whatever you need, Daddy loves you Fiona .Always!''
