Twenty Two

One of the hardest thing I had to do was leave FiFi on her own for two weeks when I had to go for camp , I wouldn't want to go and leave her alone but I don't have any choice

But not after making some very bad decisions
Obviously we couldn't return the gold chain and I wanted to toss it in the depth of the ocean just to teach FiFi a lesson

Eventually We had to sell it and use it to get an apartment for her, it wasn't quite enough but with the paycheck from the endorsement we got a mini flat around our estate although I would have loved to have it closer

The chain was almost a million naira infact we had to ask in different places to confirm the worth and it was around that range

Even though we have not fully furnished the apartment we were starting from somewhere

Shortly before I left for camp , Mr Kingsley reached out to us after our first meeting and asked FiFi if she would like to play a role in a stage play

It didn't quite sound like something we were expecting but we decided to give it a trial   , so I left for camp just around the same time FiFi started the rehearsals for the stage play

Two weeks felt like a hundred days, there was so much running in my mind as I begin to weigh the amount of trouble FiFi must have created in my absence

I called her as often as I could and I think she kinda gets it that if she's not reachable I might just lose it all at once

The Friday I was finally heading back to the house , Desmond offered to pick me up from camp with my car since my car arrived and I had to leave it with him

We went to a buka joint to have dinner first before heading back to apartment

"Guy you look like you have been sleeping under the bridge for the last couple of weeks "

"I know I look terrible you don't have to tell me "

"What happened out there bro, I mean what's with the pimples and rashes"

"Mosquito bites Desmond and the heat in that cellar is intense, I had to sleep on the bare floor on several occasions all in all what I can say is am glad the hard part is over"

"Should I be sincere, I do not look forward to it at all, I mean the khakis are cool and all but the  pay is really not worth the stress"

"Well be glad that you are not doing it for the money I heard some graduate earn more here than they do their actual jobs "

"That's sad and horrible. I can't even imagine you doing those struggling exercises"

"Say no more, it'll be your turn soon"

"Oh pls don't worry about me am fit and ready but if it's the less fun stuff I'll just clone someone to do that for me" we chuckled "Anyways I have news for you"

"Oh well,  fill me in on all the atrocities you have committed in my absence "

"Nothing of such my humble sir, I have been a very good boy until this minute "

"Okay so tell me, what's the news "

"Pheew! So I went to this very exclusive party my guys hooked me up and guess who I saw "
I raised a brow not particularly interested

"Kiara, Damn that girl is fine as fuck I didn't get a chance to see her at Desiree's party "

"but this time we even spoke for a long time , I wasn't expecting her to gimme the time of the day but she did and it was really nice "

"Oh yeah what did you guys talk about "

"You!"

"What? What do I have to do with your reunion moment "
