Mrs Archibong was throwing an all white Christmas theme party at her mansion and she sent an invite. When I saw the card I was almost jumping for joy , it was  like winning the lottery

I ran to my mom's room with the invite
And she was just getting out of the shower

"Olisa! Why did you bang in like that "

"Sorry ma, I just wanted to show you this invite quickly "

"What's that "

"See for yourself " I handed it out to her
She read it and sighed

"So....." she raised a brow

"It's an invite ma"

"I can read son , so what am I supposed to do with it now "

"Mama the Archibong's are inviting us to their Christmas party . I mean it does look like fun"

"I know but I can see only my name here so I don't understand what you mean by 'we'. Are you now Lucy Macaulay "

"No but it's a party and everyone will be there, remember you are still contemplating on how to spend Christmas now the opportunity has presented itself "

"So you want us to go to that house where you humiliated yourself "

Oh Jesus
Is my mother ever going to forget that awful mistake, this happened last year July and my mom is still remembering it in December this year . Am never going to hear the end of this

"Mama how long are you going to keep punishing for that one mistake "

"One mistake is all it takes son, till today I still can't figure out why you did it but am not going to give room for that to happen again "

"It is never going to happen again "

"It better not coz I know how long I had to force feed before you started eating crumbs and now am supposed to believe that my son is a food thief. Impossible "

"Am really sorry mama, pls forgive me and let's put the end behind us"

"Why are you so eager to go to the party "
I can't tell you why mom
You're never going to understand

"I miss everyone, I miss my best friend and I just want to do something fun for Christmas "

She sighed
My mom is not usually this hard to convince on a normal day
She's really cool and she will do anything to make me happy coz am all she's got
I can tell she's doing her best to teach me a hard lesson by not going easy on me

"Alright fine son, but if you misbehave I will ground you for the rest of your teenage life"

I rush to hug her and press my lips on her cheeks
She was staring at me from the mirror and I could tell she knew something else was up she just doesn't know what or who is making me so jumpy?????

The Christmas party was on Christmas Eve so it was an all night gathering to cross over to Christmas , they do this every year but this year looks bigger compared to the usual parlor party

We arrived there by 6pm , I pumped my mom to hasten up I even went along with her to her store and I don't like going to the store especially when my mom named her store after me

She has a cosmetic store at the mall , she sells skincare products, she also produces them and rebrand products from abroad, it's a fast growing business and it has been sustaining us

I was wearing white shirt and white jeans with sneakers. I couldn't hide my excitement the moment we got there I was trying to observe the Changes in the house I noticed they repainted the whole building the garden was looking fuller and fresher and they had decorated it for the party
