When the drugs finally kicked into my system I slept for way too long .
My mind was constantly hammering on my mom's reaction but my body was soaked in a pool of chemical fluids , I want to stay awake yet my body needs sleep ,at some point we had to meet at a balance and I woke up

It was already daybreak. Am not sure what time it is , I looked round the room and there was no one,
Where is my mom?

I sat up immediately recalling that I didn't hear or see her come in last night after she left angrily
She couldn't have gone home
She wouldn't leave me here

Oh after last nights conversation am sure she's creating havoc somewhere and just while I was standing to leave the room the door opened and Head Nurse Celeste walked in

Fantastic! It couldn't be someone else

"Oh Olisa what do you think you're doing "

"Uhhhm I was trying to stretch a bit."

"Lay back down boy" she instructed

"Okay!" I reluctantly agreed
"Good morning ma"

"Good morning my boy, how are you feeling ?"

"Very well , thank you ma "
She moved closer to me and was checking my vitals
I tried to stay still even though every nerve in my body was pumping hard to jump out of the bed and figure out what's going on"

"Do you feel any pain here?" She asked touching the bruised part of my neck
Of course it hurts like hell
But I've gat to fake it for nurse Celeste to leave the room but trust our head nurse to take her time with her checkups

"Nurse Celeste, have you seen my mom?"

"She's with doctor Archibong "
My heart was pounding fast and am holding on to my steady breath the best way possible

"How long has she been there"

"Not too long the doctor just resumed "

"Do you mind letting her know that am awake, I need to see her"

"Of course son, right away"
She walked out and I dashed out behind her careful to not let her notice

While she went to her office to make the call I went straight to doctor Archibong's office

I got to the door and froze
What would I say when I dash inside
What if they are not talking about me and FiFi
What if it is just a random conversation and I just start up something silly by interrupting them

I was thinking about it when someone gently tapped my shoulder from behind

I cringe my teeth in shock and slowly turn hoping to see my mom only to come face to face with the love of my life

"What are you doing?" She asked and I grinned broadly

"Hi FiFi "

"Hi! Why are you just standing there "

"I was Uhmm looking " I cleared my throat
"Looking for doctor"

"And....... "
I raised my brow

"He is inside , why don't you go in or else of course you are on to that stupid theory again"

"What theory!"

"You know which one, so quit the theatrics "

"If you are referring to my feelings, they are no theories, it is as real as it can get"

"You know what! I can't have you roaming around my dad like a pussy I have enough on my plate already and I just think it's better if you stay away from him"
