Sam

I sniffled as Russell held me in his arms. He ran his fingers through my hair as he rested his chin slightly on top of my head.

"Sam, are you ok, hun?" I hear Kim's voice making us turn. She and Brandon came into our living room soon after.

"Who was that lady with the black dress that Craig was running after?" Brandon asked, pointing outward and making Kim roll her eyes.

"That would be none other than Cruella herself," she says making Brandon chuckle.

"What?" he says chuckling. Russell kept an arm over my shoulders, unwilling to let go of me, and frankly, I didn't mind one bit. He smelled so good, and his body is always so warm.

"That was my mom, Brandon."

"Oh...aishhh. Are you ok?" he says as he gives me a pitiful look.

"No. She came by to give me bad...bad news." I say as I sigh and let go of Russell, taking a seat on the couch as I slump my shoulders feeling defeated.

I sat there, letting them know about the whole conversation, starting with my dad's call, and how he knew it had to be Craig's doing. "He has no shame. He went to your mom to complain that you wouldn't take him back? As if... He's the one whoring around and acting as if he's too good for you. What an asshole. I am truly losing the little respect I had for him."

She rolls her eyes, crossing her hands and letting her body fall next to me on the couch. I sigh, placing my head on her shoulder.

"She refused to listen to me, like she always does, Kim. Can you believe she wants me to move in with him, what was she thinking?"

"She's not. She's only thinking of the money flow that will come with the merging of your daddy's company with his daddy's company. I'm sorry babe, but your momma is just like all those other ladies in her bridge club. They only care about money status and next month's vacation spots."

I hate to admit it, but Kim was right. My mom didn't even like me being friends with Kim because her family didn't have much money as my dad did. And I say it like that because that's how it is. Dad's company is his, not mom's, mine, or her parent's.

She thinks I don't know the fact grandpa made dad marry her to save her company. Both of my grandpas were great friends, but unfortunately, the company dad was going to inherit was better off than the company mom's family had. Dad was forced to marry her in exchange to save their company from going bankrupt.

Julian Adam, or my dad, is an amazing investor, and the best company to supply all kinds of needs to ships and vessels. He's opened three more sights since then, making it into a bigger company. His main warehouse is in San Pedro, California where most vessels arrive. It has given mom the lavish life that she likes; filled with expensive cars, designer clothes, the house of her dreams, and a fancy lavish life.
