Fate/Lost Horizon [ Dogs of War]
[ Prologue ]
The sound of silence found itself throughout the land. What could be heard was the ever present nature that found itself all around the area. From plants that were gently pushed back by the cool and calming winds, to the wildlife that ventured wherever they wished.
Looking upward one could peer at and see the unreachable heavens. The sky, being a mirror of the sea's color reflected upwards, painting the sky in a light shade of blue. In the sky held the unreachable heavens, the land where gods lie and seek worship from the denizens of the green plains that spread themselves far and wide across the large land.
Yet unlike the sea which was found at the coast, it didn't rage and move like the rushing waves that crash against the stone rocks. The sky remained still, presenting itself as a serene picture. Beside, or rather under the sky were soft, spongy, and fluffy clouds that looked to be made of the most delicate of cotton. The white shapes that came in various appearances, and forms seemed to be stuck in place, yet if one would stare, they'd be able to see the white clouds slowly make their way across the land.
On the earth lay the lush green pastures that covered the land. The fields of grass covered nearly all the earth around it. Only stopping at the coast where the sea raged. Yet the land wasn't alone, as tall, large, and wide hills surrounded the land. If one ventured towards the very top of the hills, they could see past the coast, seeing how far the sea truly stretched.
What seemed to be an endless, vast road of water that raged like a fire, crashing against the coastline, seemed to be held back, hidden from allowing others to gauge its true length. A wide, thick, and almost stone wall-like mist covered the ocean like a castle wall that wouldn't allow others to pass through. The land which seemed like a fairy tail, truly was one as while seemingly at peace, mystery still existed within the land. Though tranquill, one should always be ready for danger.
The day had only just begun, and so the fathers ventured out into their fields to begin work. The sound of the earth being struck started being echoed as the farmers started their work, plowing their fields. It was a necessary and respected job during this era. The harvest brought joy to many, so while some men plowed their fields, laying down seeds, others reaped the fresh vegetables. While the men tended to their fields, their sons found themselves taking care of the livestock.
Milking the cows, tending to the horses, even checking if a chicken laid an egg, all were important jobs. Without the advancement of modern technology, each job was a labor inducing one. The land which was at peace had been once again brought to life, as the humans started their daily routine.
"Ah bloody hell! The damn thing is stuck." The voice of an older sounding man was heard as the sound of his tone expressed an irritation at the predicament he found himself in.
He was reasonably tall for his age. Having the appearance of a dirty farmer, his most notable features were his thick unkempt dark brown beard and hair, a gruff looking face, and large toned arms that paired well with his round stomach, and hands that had many bruises on them. His hands looked to be strong, probably from years of labor, as they were covered in dark dirt courtesy of mother earth. The older male looked down to see his hoe, made of wood and iron, stuck in the ground. A tool primarily used to loosen soil found itself trapped by it. A look of annoyance was plastered across his face.
