[ Chapter 39 ]

The sun shined like no other today, coming down with a blaze of light that covered the land. Yet, unlike the terrible days that were the summer heat, things seemed to be more gentle in terms of atmosphere. Autumn had arrived and things were not hot or cold. The days felt like a gentle breeze as they came and went. Without push or shove, things seemed relaxed and peaceful.
While at the village...
"Haaa!" With a strong roar of a warrior and the strength of a hundred men over, came down an ax upon a large log of wood. Swinging with a level of speed that only left a flash of light in its wake, the sunlight glimmered off the metal blade as it came down, splitting the wood in two. A perfect cut that also pierced the air, making a "swoosh" sound in its departure.
"Look at the arms on that man, they're as thick as the logs he's cleaving!"
"I'm honestly surprised a former knight like him isn't behind the walls of Camelot. He certainly has the strength to deserve such honor."
"Maybe, but I've only heard of one other man who had such a look, and the reports say that the Wolf Knight won't be back for around eleven months or more."
"Hmm, the king and queen's guard dog? They must be doing something very important if it means sending him off for so long. Still, to send off a man that surpasses Sir Lancelot... What could the king be up to?"
"It could have something to do with Rome. I heard from family up there that their emperor is getting pretty ballsy with his demands."
"...Perhaps."
Talking amongst themselves as they watched Y/n cut into the logs of wood, the redhead had nearly made everyone shit themselves when, rather than just cut them down, instead used his bare hands to quite easily rip the trees out of the ground and remove them from the forest.
Being a couple of feet away from the front of his home, he quickly gathered some attention from his neighbors as they, as the nice people they were, offered to help him with "whatever he was actually doing". Yet...
They learned that the closer they came to a very strong Irish man with an ax, the more likely they were to die just by being near.
So they kept their distance...
Still, they couldn't help but notice that the currently shirtless man dressed in black pants, giving a view of his rather "built" upper body, no matter how many times he swung the ax, the only thing the only person, or in this case, persons sweating, were themselves.
Things must be really hot outside.
"Oi! Ya guys mind taking some of this wood? I don't think I'll need this much for what I'm planning, you guys can use the rest for firewood." Y/n offered, turning around and dropping his ax near a tree stump, before motioning to the large piles of wood he had set up.
Thinking it over, the older men who had been watching up to this point nodded their heads, agreeing to take some wood off of Y/n's hands this morning. Walking up and quickly thanking the giant redhead, who seemed to tower over them, they began taking their individual shares, while at the same time striking up a conversation with the man.
"So, where's the wife? I thought she was just watching you." A man to Y/n's left asked, getting Y/n to turn back to his home and look up at the porch to find Artoria missing. Stretching while answering, the redhead was unaware he was being stared at by ogling eyes...
"Huh? Didn't notice that, maybe she's just with Fenrir?" Y/n guessed, using the false name he had decided for Sif. Hearing laughter coming from his right, he turned to see a more older man ready to ask him something.
