[ Chapter 28 ]

"We know that from time to time, there arise among human beings, people who seem to exude love as naturally as the sun gives out heat."

"What makes you believe that, child?" Scathach asked the girl, earning a smile from the teen.

"My father..." She answered in a kind tone, a warm look in her eyes. Her words caused the older woman to laugh, somehow expecting such an answer.

"Yes, that certainly sounds like the fool... Even I became softer after raising him." Scathach replied, taking a glance at the clouds above as the child beside her continued on.

"Because even if his story is a little sad now... My mother eventually came, and you should have seen his reaction to finding out! Mother dropped a bomb on my old man!" The girl happily exclaimed, giving a toothy grin as she raised the blade in her left hand, and rested it on her back. A blade with a red handle, how odd?

"Then please continue, I can't wait to find out who she is~"

The streets of Camelot were as always full of busybodies at work. The morning had already begun, and the summer heat was dead set on making itself known. Some fanned their faces as drops of sweat poured down their cheeks, while others opted to stay in the shade as they worked, happy to escape the sun's heat. But, if you were one of the many men in armor on patrol, then your life was currently hell right now. Stuck inside a suit of armor that seemed to be begging to hit with the season's worst, it would be a surprise if you didn't pass out from heatstroke. Unfortunate yes, but they had a job to do and the day had only started.

But with the coming of July, already a week or two in the month, the people of Camelot had already felt the change. Some things were good, while others were bad. Though of course, what couldn't go unnoticed was the missing presence of a certain someone. That man no longer went up and down their streets, nor did his wolf who was once a joy to children. No, the Wolf Knight seemed to be missing from their lives, gone for whatever reason.

Some believed it was due to the work of the Witch, while others thought it was due to orders of the king, believing the man had more important duties to see through. Sir Artorias, or Sir Y/n depending on which title you wished to refer to him by, had stopped his patrols. Robbing the people of the man's lively presence. Making their daily lives a little more dull.

Odd it was, that while Sir Gawain was the light of the king, Sir Y/n would be one for the people. As even the moon gives light, no matter how small it may be. So, it has to be asked, which of these two lights is greater? He who shines like the sun, or the one who loves the moon? A difficult question indeed, as even if the moon's light is lesser, the knight who embodies it... Finds themselves a place in the people, and even the king's heart.

"Why the long face? Is something troubling you, my king?" Merlin asked curiously, looking across at the blonde in front of her.

Even if the day had only begun, work was already being done. As, inside the room of the king, sat both Merlin and Arthur. And, as one would expect, the room of King Arthur was nothing to scoff at. Large enough to fit several beds, the room was certainly large, allowing anyone to stretch their legs freely without discomfort. Painted with a light blue, the walls stretched from one corner to the next, forming a large square-shaped room. With a marble-like floor that was colored white, and a royal blue carpet over it with gold designs going over it. Along with this were a set of small couches facing each other, placed at the back of the walls. With no windows in sight, the room was lit by candlelight, which was seen attached to the walls. And at the back of the room, was there a king-sized bed, with the odd choice of red covers over it.
