[ Chapter Three ]

The bright morning sun stood high in the sky, flashing its blazing shimmering light over the land.

Today was the day. Questions would be answered for some, while more would be raised for others. Certainly the event taking place this morning would be a special one for many. The duel between Arthur, and the man of mystery, Y/n, was something the members of the king's party were certainly curious about, wishing to know how it would go. Was the mystery man all talk, or was he hiding actual skill behind the carefree, but equally curious nature they had known Y/n by up to this point?

At the tree line, a smile graced the face of a woman who's snow white colored hair barely touched the ground, her sapphire pink colored eyes looking attentive, watching the participants who stood in the field. Merlin had been the first to awake, having forcefully woke the young king up, much to the boy's annoyance. She was definitely interested in how the duel would transpire.

Y/n was an oddity to her, in many ways, and especially in one that baffled her. Though the last one was something she wasn't ready to reveal. The experience inside his dream has further increased her interest in him. Yet with how he'd dance around the subject of revealing more about himself, raised more questions than answers for the nosy woman. So, seeing him in action was something she couldn't miss, hoping it may lead to some answers about him.

By her side was Kay, the brown haired male wearing an expression of uncertainty due to what was about to occur. Kay, while trusting Arthur, wasn't sure on what his opponent would do. Even with his questioning from the day before, his distrust of Y/n hadn't completely disappeared. Seeing how the male spoke about his intentions, and with such determination. It was a little unnerving. Y/n was a little too eccentric for his liking, part of him believing he hit his head as a child, if he had to rule out the red head just being loony.

"Hmm, they seem to be getting ready." Merlin noted, catching the attention of Kay who had been too focused on his thoughts to notice. Looking forward, Kay began paying attention to both fighters.

Far past the tree line where both Merlin, and Kay were at. Arthur and Y/n were in the center of a field, grasslands. Though with the addition of a large lake, and some trees around them, they had the whole area to do battle. With this amount of space, unless they fought using stealth, they would be perfectly able to fight using their preferred style without being hindered. The location was chosen by Arthur, the male wishing to have a fair duel.

The two were six feet apart, enough space to not give any inherent advantage( such as Y/n's reach due to being taller), to each other.

Y/n's stance was rather relaxed despite what was about to begin, his only sign of being serious was the grip he had on his crimson hilt, and the fact that his right foot led in front of him. His relaxed posture was complimented by the familiar grin that found itself on his face. His eyes slightly narrowed, a glint of confidence in them. Whether he was excited for the fight, or just overconfident was something that couldn't be figured out by his opponent, who stared up at him.

No armor, or protection? This could be a trick for me to lower my guard. No, his character doesn't seem to be the type, but I shouldn't rule it out. What are you playing at, Sir Y/n? Arthur thought.

The king contrasted Y/n, being in a far more refined stance. Arthur, who was wielding Caliburn, stood in a "Close Stance". His arms bent, forearms pointing downwards slightly towards the left, blade raised pointing up, with his right leg put forward, bent a little, his left leg being positioned behind the right, and spread back a bit. Arthur wore pieces of armor to protect his upper torso, forearms and hand, along with pieces of armor to protect his knees and downward. The silver armor left his shoulders, stomach, head, and thighs vulnerable. He was dressed in a set of white clothes, with the distinction of his pants which were black and a little baggy.
