Chapter 74 , Ones love arc

Due to Gaara's request, Hinari was on her way to their hotel they were staying to accompany the Kazekage until he leave after the meeting.

She stopped in front of a sliding door and knocked on it. "Kazekage-sama, it's me, Hinari."

Waiting there for a moment, no one answered so she tried knocking again.

"Kazekage-sama...?"

"is he busy?" Hinari asked to herself, looking down while thinking hard.

The door opened revealing Gaara with a rather simple clothing, he was only wearing a red t-shirt and black pants. His hair was wet and has some droplets of water on the ends of his locks; it seems like he just got out of shower.

His lips lifted a small smile after seeing her there, he held her hands and dragged her inside the room; closing the doors in the process.

She was led inside his small living room filled with small boxes tied with red ribbons, she then was sat forcefully down on the floor in front of the table.

"Gaara-sama? Do you want me to do something for you?" she asked curiously, he shook his head and showed his hands towards the snacks.

"Please, enjoy these. These are the few snacks I have brought from our village, just as I promised, I brought it for you Hinari." he sat next to her and lifted a small, gentle, genuine smile.

Hinari stared at him in shock, feeling her cheeks getting warm, she covered it with her hands before laughing.

"You do realize you're acting so hot right now right Kazekage-sama?" she said in a murmur, Gaara shut his lips tight and looked at her with confusion. "What does that mean, Hinari?" he asked

Hinari lowered her hands before taking a snack from one of the, now opened boxes. It was a macaroon. She slowly put it on her mouth before taking a small bite.

"Bringing me a snack, when I'm supposed to be your guard... It makes my heart flutter Gaara." she explained, her eyes curved her appreciation as her lips lift her a smile.

"You're caring for me and that's why it makes you hotter." she continued before going back to tasting all different kinds of snacks given to her.

Gaara watch her do as she pleases, from eating every snacks, to her giving slight comments now and then.

He was sure this scene happened back then, back at that time, in the joint chunin exam.

He's sure it happened,

His loving gaze towards the female,

her usual appetite taking over her actions,

her messed face caused by the snacks.

And even still getting the same scenario...

The feeling of being in love, still feels new to Gaara.

Without noticing, Gaara's hands slowly drove itself towards her cheeks, his palm making contant with her sticky right cheek from the candy she ate. His thumb slowly erased the evidence of that stickiness before it travelled down to her lips, caressing it with the same finger, removing the crumbles (from the macaroon) on it.
