24: Sick with Todoroki Part 4

The next time I wake up, my head is in Todoroki's lap. I look up at him and notice that he's fallen asleep too. Poor thing. He must've been exhausted. He was sick for a while and then he had to take care of me. I let him sleep as I gingerly sat up and grabbed the thermometer to take my temperature. 98.6 (37). Finally, I'm back to normal. I feel so much better. I just lay my head on Shoto's shoulder and relax. I don't want to wake him up. But then he woke up on his own and saw my head on his shoulder.

"Hey, sweetheart. I thought you'd still be asleep."

"I was but then I wasn't sleepy anymore."

"I see. How're you feeling?"

"So much better. I took my temperature and I'm normal. No more fever."

"I'm so glad you're feeling better, love."

"You and me both. I felt so rotten while I was sick. I guess I never realized how grateful I am to have a working nose. I guess I never realized that I took breathing for granted."

"Yeah. I realized that too. How about we go out on the town to celebrate?"

I chuckle. "I don't think so. At least not for a couple of days. I just want to be on the safe side. I don't want our fevers coming back and us feeling sick again."

"I understand, sweetheart. How about we just watch a movie or something?"

"That sounds perfect." 

We picked out a random movie and watched it. I was a little sad when it was over just because it had to end. But we still had homework to get caught up on since we were sick.

"Shoto... Can we please watch another movie?"

"Snowflake, we have homework to get caught up, on. And now that you don't have a fever we should do it together. And if we need to we can ask someone to come over and help us out."

"No..." I whine.

"Is someone grumpy?"

"Yes." I pout.

"Oh. You're so cute when you pout. But come on, put the puppy dog eyes away. Time to start on homework."

"I don't wanna. I just want cuddles."

"You've had cuddles from me for days while we were unwell. It's time to do homework. We can't afford to fail our classes if we want to be heroes. Come on. Tell you what, if you're good, I'll cook your favorite for dinner. But only if you're good. And maybe, I can make a dessert on top of that for you. But you have to be good and play nice."

I keep pouting. 

"Come on. Put the pout away. No more puppy dog eyes. They're not going to work on me. Put them away."

I finally give in.

"Yep. You know I'm right. Come on. Homework time."

"Ugh. Fine, but only because you wouldn't stop begging."

"That works for me. As long as we're getting homework done. That's fine by me." He laughs.

"Yeah. Haha. Laugh it up. It's so hilarious."

This was gonna be a long day.
