Todoroki x Y/N: Femme Reader

9: Deku

The next day after spending time with Todoroki the two of us walk into Aizawa's class with Todoroki's arm around my waist. I have my head snuggled into his chest. Everyone goes slack-jawed, realizing that the two of us are an item now. But I notice something off with Deku. He seems... Almost sad. I realize that he's been in love with either me or Todoroki. I'm not entirely sure which.

"Todoroki, would you excuse me for just a sec? I should probably talk to Deku about something. He seems upset."

"Sure baby."

"Thanks, babe." I kiss his cheek and walk over to Deku.

"Hey, Deku. Is something wrong? You seem sad about something. And don't try to tell me that it's nothing. I can tell that something's bothering you."

"Oh. Really? Is it that obvious (Y/N)?"

"Mm-hm."

"Oh. Well... I guess... It's that... I've been in love with-"

"Okay, class. Let's get started." Aizawa cuts him off.

"I'll talk to you later. I'm not done with this conversation." I whisper to Deku and walk over to my seat. Todoroki looks at me inquisitively and I just shrug. I wasn't able to get much out of Deku before Aizawa walked in.

Time skip to after class

"Class is dismissed." Aizawa walks out of the classroom.

"Baby,  I need to go finish my conversation with Deku real quick before Present Mic gets here."

"Alright. I'll be right here if you need me."

"Thanks."

I walk back over to Midoriya's seat. "Hey, we didn't get to finish our conversation earlier. You were saying something about being in love with someone?"

"Oh. Yeah. I've been in love with you since you started here. Or at least a couple of days after you started. I guess, seeing you being a couple with Todoroki hurts a little bit. I mean, I'm happy for you and I want you to be happy, it just stings I guess. When you see the person you love, in love with someone else."

"Oh. Izuku. I understand that that hurts. I get that Midoriya. I really do. But I need you to know something okay? You're like... A dorky, nerdy brother to me. You're a good friend. I've been in love with Shoto since my first day here. I really don't mean to hurt you Deku. It's the way things are. I'm so sorry. I really am."

"I know (Y/N). I understand that. I appreciate your honesty (Y/N). Thank you."

"Of course, Midoriya. I really don't mean to hurt your feelings. But I appreciate your understanding of how I feel. You're a good friend Deku." I rub my hand on his shoulder for a second and walk back over to my seat.

"Is everything alright Snowflake?"

"Yeah. Turns out you were right Shoto. He was in love with me. He has been for a while. But he understands that I'm in love with you and you're in love with me. He's hurting. No doubt about it but, I think he'll be okay after some time. He just needs time to recover from a broken heart."

"Really? So, I was right? Huh. I didn't want to believe it. But, I'm glad he understands the way that you and I feel about each other. I hope he'll be okay. He's a good guy. He deserves to be happy."

"Yeah. I agree. I just feel bad that I hurt him."

"I'm sorry love. But you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. You can't help the way your heart feels."

"I know."

Then Present Mic walks into the room and gets class started.

Time skip to lunch break

I'm walking out of the classroom, bag in hand when I feel an arm around my waist.

"Shoto. Babe. What's up with you?"

"Well, we have an hour for lunch right? So I was thinking, why don't I take you out for lunch? Finally, take you on a proper date?"

"I'd love that, but... What about your father? I thought you were worried about him finding out about us."

"Agh. Right. Him. Sometimes I really want to show him that I'm not going to be the person he wants me to be. I want to be a pro-hero, but he pushes too hard. I want to show him that I'm gonna be the best. But not in the same way that he wants me to."

"Really?"

"Yes. So, please. Let me take you on a proper date. We don't have a ton of time left."

"Okay. If you insist. Where do you wanna go?"

"Well, there's this soba shop just down the street in town if you want to go there."

"Sounds good to me. I could really go for some soba anyway."

"Perfect. Let's go."
