22: Sick with Todoroki Part 2

Ugh. The next morning I don't really feel any better. I notice some boxes of tissues on the nightstand. Uraraka must've stopped by. She's a good friend. I'm slowly waking up but my head feels like it's being hit with a hammer so I just lay back down and try to fall back asleep without waking Todoroki. Unfortunately, I'm unsuccessful. At least at falling back asleep. Ugh. Luckily, I left the thermometer on the nightstand as well, so I may as well take my own temperature. Hopefully, when it beeps it won't wake Todoroki. He needs the rest. When it beeped, I noticed that my fever went down slightly. 101.8 (38.7). Ugh. It's still high, but at least it's gone down slightly. I guess the rest and the meds have helped. But then I felt movement beside me. 

"Mm. Morning, Snowflake. How're you feeling?"

"Not much better babe. My fever has gone down slightly but it's still high. As long as you're up we should get yours too."

"What's your temp.?"

"101.8 (38.7)."

"Oh. Yeah. That's still high. But I'm glad that it's gone down a bit."

"You and me both."

"Well, did you want to get mine then?"

"Yeah. Come on. Lift your tongue... Good... And close. Just give it a minute. *beep beep* Okay... And open. Let me see here. 100.7 (38.1). Yeah, you still have a slight fever. But it's gone down. That's a good sign."

"Yeah. I see Uraraka stopped by with tissues. Ugh. She is a Godsend."

"I agree. She came through for us. Speaking of tissues. Give me one second. *blows nose* Ugh. Sorry. I wish you didn't have to see me like this."

"What are you talking about? I've seen you like this before. It's nothing new. I'm just glad to be here with you. It's making this a little more bearable."

"Aw. That's- *sneeze* excuse me. That's sweet, babe."

"Bless you."

"Thanks."

"Actually, I should probably grab a tissue quick too. *Blows nose* Ugh. Sorry."

"Don't even worry about it Peppermint."

"I just wish I could regulate my body temperature like I normally can *cough*."

"I know babe. I know. But since we slept the whole day yesterday, we should probably take another dose of medicine."

"Ugh. That stuff tastes horrendous."

"I know. But if we want to get better, we need to take it. I'll even go first again." I fill the cap to the recommended amount. "Bottoms up." Ugh. "Okay. That's gross. Your turn." I fill it up again and he takes it. 

"Ugh. Agreed."

"But at least we got it over with."

"Yeah."

"We should probably get something to eat. I mean, we can't go to the cafeteria. You wanna order something? I could order some hot soba or some chicken soup or something."

"Yeah. Chicken soup sounds good right now. It might help us feel better soon."

"Good plan. I'll also order some ginger tea. My stomach feels a little nauseous. What about you? Your stomach feeling okay?"

"Yeah. I think it's feeling okay."

"Okay. So, two bowls of chicken soup and a cup of ginger tea. Should we get anything else?"

"I mean, I don't think I can think of anything else. Unless we want to get some bottles of water. Otherwise, I can go get some water for us from your kitchen. I mean my fever's lower than yours."
