Chapter 8- The One Where Everyone Knows!.. But Johnny

Doyoung was sitting up in the Ops center working on some reports while Jaehyun was next to him. It had been a very long day for them, and they were just sitting there recharging their batteries. The two of them were enjoying some alone time when suddenly Jaehyun's phone went off. The two of them jumped in their seats, looking at the phone lying on the table. Doyoung gave his mate a dirty look while Jaehyun just looked sheepish. Picking up the phone, the alpha saw that one of his younger brothers had called him. Checking the time, Jaehyun knew that something had happened. His brothers never call him otherwise. Picking up the phone, he was preparing for the madness they had become involved in this time.

Checking his messages, Jaehyun saw that he had gotten a message from Jaemin. Opening it up, he saw a picture of their youngest brother Jisung. Jaehyun just sat there and stared at it; he really didn't understand what was happening here. He saw an image of his youngest brother covered head to toe in glitter. He didn't know its context, but Jaehyun knew that he didn't need to; he knew his brothers too well. And looking at the actual message that Jaemin sent just made him not want to know. The message read:

Hyung, help me. I can't deal with this anymore. The brats are your problem now.

And even though Jaehyun felt terrible for his younger brother, he couldn't help but laugh. For Jaemin to be this frustrated with their two younger brothers, God, it was something. Doyoung was still looking at him funny, and Jaehyun leaned over to show him the picture. Doyoung's eyes got comically wide, and Jaehyun knew that he was pissed off as well. "Brats, all of them," Doyoung said. He turned to look at Jaehyun. "Well, don't just sit there; go and help your brothers and clean up their mess." Jaehyun just laughed at him; he leaned over and kissed Doyoung on the lips and then left to go deal with whatever the kids were up to this time. Even though the beta would never admit it, he has a soft spot for all those so-called 'brats.' In fact, he's where Jaemin got that lovely term of endearment from. He cares just as much about his younger brothers as he does. It was part of the reason that he knew that Doyoung was the one.

It took a couple of minutes before the omega stopped laughing long enough to be able to form sentences. "Are you done yet?" Doyoung asked him. Ten just stood there and held up his hand to signal for a couple of more minutes before he was completely done. "Okay, okay, I'm done," Ten said. "But Doie, your face." He said with a snicker. Doyoung just glared harder at him and flipped the omega off. "What do you need, Chittaphon?" Doyoung asked him. "Or are you just hear to annoy the shit out of me?" He asked. Ten just shook his head at him. "No, I promise I'm not here to mess with you." Ten told him. "I actually came here to ask you about something, but I couldn't help myself." He said. Doyoung just stared there, watching him, waiting for him to answer.

Ten stood there for a second, catching his breath, and Doyoung could tell that he was nervous about something. And that put Doyoung on edge because Ten was never worried. In all of the years that Doyoung has known the omega. The only times that he's nervous is when he thinks that it's something terrible. And that dramatically concerns Doyoung because what did Ten know that he possibly didn't do that was so bad that he was terrified to tell him anything. Even though Doyoung was starting to get more nervous than annoyed, he was waiting for the other shoe to drop. He just hoped that whatever Ten was going to tell him wasn't related to his father's debrief. Don't get him wrong; he wants these cases solved just as much as the rest, but he doesn't want them solved at the cost of one of his best friends. (And don't you dare tell Ten that, or his ego will get so big Doyoung will have to take matters into his own hands.) But he also didn't want to push his friend, so he kept his mouth shut to give Ten time, but it was driving Doyoung mad, not knowing what was going on.
