Chapter 13-Mark Is Still Clueless.

Mark's mind was still spinning there, clueless after Donghyuck kissed him. Out of all the possibilities running through his head until now, he never thought this would be one of them. In almost all of the scenarios he pictured in his mind, Donghyuck rejected him in some way, shape, or form. And while Mark was about 85% certain that Donghyuck felt the same way, he didn't think the omega would admit that. So you can only imagine his surprise when Donghyuck had an emotional breakdown and confessed that he loved him too.

And that should have made Mark's day, and it did to a degree; hell, it could have made his whole year. But, there was just something about Donghyuck's reaction that initially disturbed him. In all of the time that Mark has known the younger omega, he has never seen his resolve crumble like this. Donghyuck always portrayed himself as the happy, go-lucky, sarcastic operative much tougher than he lets on. And that in itself is what really surprises Mark. Donghyuck is the strongest person that Mark has ever met in his life. The omega has been through some shit in his life, and he never let it get the best of him. Donghyuck was one of SM's best agents because he takes shit from no one and has worked his ass off harder than anyone else to be where he is today.

So to see that person break in front of his eyes and for Mark to see this new, fragile, and vulnerable side of him. He's not going to lie to you here and say that he knew what he was doing here. He did not, in fact, know what the hell was going on here in this situation. The alpha had the strongest urge to go and comfort the obvious omega in distress. But Mark didn't know what to do. He was terrified of upsetting the omega further and making the situation worse. But he just couldn't stand there and do absolutely nothing. He's still not a hundred percent sure how that meant they ended up in bed together, but that's a problem for him to work on later. Right now, he just needs to try and figure out what the hell is going on between them.

Mark will admit that he's not the best in situations like these. Despite what everyone else thinks about him, he's shit at social problems. He's socially awkward and tends to ramble when he's nervous. And yet everyone almost always comes to find him to fix the emotional situations when none of the older members are available. So you can see how it blows up in his face whenever he tries to talk about stuff like this with Donghyuck. This more or less explains why the two of them are fighting all the time, besides the fact that the younger omega likes to get on his nerves.

But the more Mark thinks about all of this, the more an idiot he feels. From how the younger has talked, he's been in love with him for years. The alpha doesn't understand how he could have missed it. And while he is known for being one of the more observant team members, he's still prone to being oblivious about other things outside the job. Plus, Donghyuck is good at hiding his problems from other people.

And now, all of the people he's had conversations with over the past couple of months, things are making a lot more sense. The numerous talks he's had with Johnny and Lucas are all returning to him now. The two other alphas had practically told him about the younger's feelings. But Mark was either oblivious or in denial to accept the truth. He just wishes that he had figured out all of the rest of this sooner. Maybe he could have saved all of them some heartbreak.

After everything that Donghyuck has told him today, Mark is perplexed. But he feels so awful about how he was inadvertently treating the younger for years. How can he be so blind to miss this? And really, what will this mean for them and the rest of the team?

But the fact still stands, though. Would a relationship work between the two of them? Or would it blow up their faces, screw up the team dynamics, and get NCT disbanded? Which he knows sounds really stupid since after they kissed, they had sex. But Mark couldn't wrap his head around their conversation.
