Chapter 15- No, It Really Hit The Fan, I'm Not Kidding

Previously on NEO GOT MY BACK...

Doyoung, Jungwoo, Jaehyun, and Lucas were all in the eldest office. They were helping the beta comb through all of the files he could find on the Mole. And while Doyoung was perfectly content to do the work alone, his mate wouldn't let him. He knew the alpha worried about him, and Doyung thought it was sweet. But he was also about 5 seconds away from strangling Jaehyun with his bare hands. Though he notes that he can't really do this on his own anymore. There are just too many pieces to connect with each other. He enjoyed having the extra sets of eyes. Still, he knew what it would take to convince them that he was right after Doyoung's accusing one of the most decorated agents and his father's best friend of treason.

He still remembers the bewildered look on his younger brother's face when he saw all his notes spread out. Doyoung could tell his brother was worried about him from his face, but he didn't mind it. He had to get this done. He had to find out who the Mole was and stop him. The beta wouldn't let anyone else get hurt, especially his little brother. And if he has to put his health on the back burner for a bit to accomplish that, then that's what he was going to do. The Mole was too dangerous not to put all his efforts into it.

From what it looks like, the Mole has been active longer in their Agency than any of them thought. And as Doyoung sat there, with Jaehyun's arm wrapped around him, he could see the severity of the situation finally dawn on his little brother. He hoped he didn't break his little brother's heart over this. "Hyung, what's going on?" Jungwoo asked him. And the beta's heart broke at the sound of his voice. He knew the younger was scared and didn't want to make any of it worse. But God, he couldn't hide it from him forever. Jungwoo may be his little brother, but he's an adult now. And he can handle a lot more than he lets on. Doyoung just has to be reminded of it periodically.

"Park Daewon." That was all that Doyoung said. And Jungwoo had gotten really confused at that. Park Daewon? He was one of their father's best friends and a high-ranking member of their Agency. Jungwoo and Doyoung have known him since they were kids. He's like an uncle to them. Though, a creepy one at that. Doyoung never exactly was that fond of him, always said that he gave him the creeps. Jungwoo got along better with him, but he still always thought that there was something off about him.

"What about him?" Jungwoo asked him. And Doyoung stared at his brother dead in the eye, then turned and pointed at the whiteboard again. So Jungwoo went and reread it.

Some of the things that he was able to tie to the Mole were the following:

-Hacking into the Agency's systems in the 90s.

- The murder of Jaemin and Jisung's parents(Even though he couldn't prove it.)

- The kidnapping of three of their operatives about 10 years ago resulted in the death of Hansol and the torture and assault of Taeyong.

-And recently, Mark's kidnapping and the botched mission with Cherry Bomb.

So, needless to say, this person was very conniving and devious. They knew what they were doing and were personable enough to get through to anyone without being noticed. And so far, that plan seems to be working.

And that was when things started to make sense. Which made Jungwoo feel sick to his stomach. At the thought.

A little background on Agent Park Daewon. Doyoung and Jungwoo have known that man since they were children. He entered the Agency with their father when they were young. They have worked together their whole entire careers. Park and their father were up for the exact position of supervisor of the entire department. Their father got the job, and Park has been the go-to guy for everyone else in the Agency. Doyoung has never been that fond of the man, but he was a good agent, and his father trusted him, so he kept his mouth shut. Jungwoo felt similar but wasn't as vocal about it as his brother. But now, looking at the information in front of him, it was all starting to make sense.
