Chapter 19- Darkest Before The Dawn

It was over; after everything, it was finally over. It was hard to believe that it was finally over after all these months, all of these years. Everyone felt a flurry of emotion take over them at the sudden turn of events. The mole had finally been found. Members of their team had been taken hostage. Their boss had been shot. And the mole killed himself. That's a lot to take in all at once.

Taeyong wasn't sure if the adrenaline fade was what was causing the room to spin for him or something else, but he really wished that it would stop. He had too much shit to be dealing with at the moment. He had to keep it together just a little longer, then he could fall apart at the seams in Johnny's arms. But it was starting to get harder and harder to stand upright. The omega just had to keep in mind that he was needed at the moment, and he had to keep going.

They had to tend to Yunho and ensure that he would live. He had to check on his teammates and make sure that they were un-hmarned as well. Plus, they had to deal with the dead body at the feet. Even though Taeyong witnessed Daewon shooting himself in front of him, he had difficulty looking at the body. Taeyong usually wasn't squeamish, but lately, everything has made his stomach sour. He's pretty sure it's the morning sickness, but that's another thought for later.

Turning his head, Taeyong patted Johnny on his shoulder; his mate turned to him and saw the slightly queasy look on his face. He gently guided his mate away from the dead body and towards the mess that was their boss's bullet wound. "Hey Yuta, Mark, will you two take care of.." Johnny said as he gestured towards the body. The two alphas nodded and gathered others to take care of the clean-up and procedure.

As Johnny was ushering his pregnant mate away from the carnage and gore, he could hear Yuta and Mark barking out orders to the other members and saying something about calling for backup. He's pretty sure that Kun butted in at some point and was starting to get things sorted out. While doing that, Johnny ensured that Taeyong didn't collapse on himself. He knew that the stress of everything was terrible for Taeyong and the baby, but he was worried that it had taken its toll on his mate. After they get things sorted out, he's dragging his mate to get checked out, and they're telling the rest of them about their surprise.

In the corner of the office sat Yunho, up against the wall with a bullet hole in his shoulder, with Taeil and his sons surrounding him. From what Johnny can tell, Jungwoo did a bang-up job on his father's shoulder. Taeil was double-checking the work and was in the middle of preparing to move him to the medical wing. Lucas and Jaehyun were standing on the outer edge of the circle, standing guard. Jaehyun saw them coming, and Johnny could see relief in his best friend's eyes. "Hyungs." The younger alpha said as he greeted him. "Thank God you're here." He told them. Taeyong immediately stepped forward to embrace the more youthful in a hug. "Hey, man," Johnny said. "Are you alright?" He asked him.

"Yeah, we're all fine physically," Jaehyun told them. "The only one who got hurt was the boss." He said, gesturing to the man currently being poked and prodded. "That's good." He said as Taeyong pulled back and moved on to check on the others. "How are they doing?" He asked in a low whisper. Jaehyun shook his head. "Both are freaked out beyond belief and are worried out of their mind." He said. "But hopefully, Taeil-Hyung can take care of it, and everything will be better after that," Jaehyun told him.

"How are you?" Johnny asked him. He could see the younger alpha hesitate for a moment before answering him. He knows that Jaehyun is probably reeling from all of these revelations. Not only did he see his boss/father-in-law get shot, but he also found out who was behind his parent's death and the death of his younger siblings' mother. "I'm... I'm here.." Jaehyun said. "Today has really been a day, Hyung." He told him. Johnny couldn't help but chuckle at that. "Yeah, I hear you, Jae." He said the younger one.
