Chapter 14- When Shit Hits The Fan
Shotaro and Sungchan were in the middle of training when it happened. The two were running through your standard drills just to have something to do. And what neither one knew was the other was using this as an excuse to spend time with them. It was very obvious to everyone that Shotaro and Sungchan were in love with each other. The two of them have always been close. Sungchan was one of the first friends that the omega had made when he came over from Japan. The two became fast friends and have been conjoined at the hip ever since. Everyone always told them they were like an older version of Chenle and Jisung. (This always made Sungchan blush because he knew that his little brother had a crush on his best friend, and it did funny things to his heart when they made a comparison.) The whole point is that they have been through everything together since Shotaro immigrated to Korea and joined the Agency. They are as thick as thieves, and nothing could ever change between them until it did.
The two of them have been friends for years. And as the years have gone by, their bond has only grown closer and closer. As years passed, the glue got increasingly intimate, and the two started to pull apart slightly even though they were tight. The older the two got, the more they fell in love. But, the other doesn't know that they are in love with them. Suchan realized that his feelings for his best friend were more than just platonic about two years ago and has been too scared to come forward about it to anybody. His brothers know about it, but he swore them all to secrecy. On the other hand, Shotaro realized that he was in love with the alpha about 6 months after they met. But with Sungchan really being the only friend that he felt comfortable with, he was terrified of ruining that. So he kept that secret close to his chest and never dared to tell anybody. Yuta could figure it all out, but he made his cousin promise not to breathe a word of this to anyone. And years later, neither knew about the other's true feelings.
That was part of the reason that both of them were here today. As time passed and their feelings became more and more developed, it got more challenging for them to hide them. And so they started to grow apart a bit in their friendship. They had begun to spend more time with their other packmates and only ever hung out when everyone was together. What happened to Mark woke them up to what they needed to do. Both Sungchan and Shotaro realized that they needed to clear the air here. They needed to get back together and regroup. Even if they became nothing more than friends, both of them wanted at least their friendship back. That was most important to them, especially with the mole running amuck. They tried to fix what they could in case something horrible happened.
So far, the training has been going well. The two of them fought just as well together as they usually do. It was like they never had grown apart, to begin with, and both of them were happy to be together again. After a couple of practice fights, the two decided to take a break. Both were lying on the floor, cooling off and trying to catch their breaths. Sungchan had been smart enough to grab them both water before he sprawled out on the floor, and they were both enjoying the coolness as they rested.
It must have been about 10 minutes before either of them said a word. And the one to break the silence was Shotaro. "Hey,..um,.." Shotaro said. He heard Sungchan turn his head to look at him, but he couldn't bring himself to look at the younger alpha. "Yes, Hyung?" Sungchan asked him.
Shotaro slowed before he was able to go on. "Um,... There's something that I want to talk to you about, Channie." Shotaro said. "About how we've been these past couple of months. And while Shotaro knew the words he was about to say would change everything, he knew that he had to do it. And while he was still anxious about how this would go down, he wasn't as scared anymore. Sungchan was his best friend, and even if he didn't love him back like that, he'd never abandoned him, that much he was sure of.
