"Harry, if you don't put that set of robes down, I'll hex you! The cut and style is wrong!"
How they ended up in this situation, they would never know. Harry had been promptly dragged out of the Great Hall in the middle of their breakfast by an overly excited Draco Malfoy who then proceeded to bring them to the luxury robe shop in Hogsmeade for a day of shopping. It was hell, to say the least.
Every single set of robes that they liked was immediately vetoed due to criteria they didn't know. Hell, they almost wished they had gone with the girls and Ron to shop for dresses. Almost.
"Try this on!" Draco shoved a dark green collared shirt and black dress pants into their arms. They stepped inside the small changing area and quickly replaced their current band t-shirt and jeans. Now was time for the boy's inspection of outfit number 36. "Not bad. Do you have this shirt in a lighter green?"
This would continue until Draco had either gone through the entire store's wares or he found an outfit for them. Despite being yelled at for picking the wrong clothes, they wandered around the store to find something they liked. A few things they wanted to pick were just to see the boy's face of disapproval and frustration.
One shirt they had found was rather plain: a simple, black collared shirt, but it paired well with the black dress pants. They also found a blue shirt that had butterfly buttons, which made them very happy, but clashed with their skin tone. A pair of white pants were nice, but way too hard to keep clean. A set of navy blue dress pants didn't really match anything they could find that they liked.
"Mx. Potter? Perhaps you should come back over this way. The clothes you're looking at now are a little more expensive than you could probably afford." The shopkeeper had been doing things like this since they had gotten there. They said nothing to Draco when he went anywhere in the store, but had a problem with Harry.
"No thanks. I think I might find something I like over here."
"Oh! That looks so nice!" The boy was across the store in seconds, looking at the deep crimson shirt with skull buttons that Harry had grabbed. He held the shirt up to his chest, looking down at it. "It's definitely not your style, it clashes with your eyes, but what do you think?"
"It contrasts really nicely with your hair! You should wear it with those black robes with the vine patterns you have!"
The two moved to find a nice pair of black dress pants for Draco, it took them ten minutes to find one up to the Malfoy Standard™. After that, the search for something nice for Harry resumed.
The bell chimed from the door, causing the attendant to rush off with one last glare at Harry. They could hear the vague sounds of an argument, but ignored it in favor of finding something to wear. That is until the shop attendant was being forced out of the way by a rather ticked off Neville, who had been buying a pair of dress shoes for himself in another shop.
"Hey Nev, did you get the shoes you wanted?"
"Nearly cost an arm and a leg. I always forget how expensive this stuff can be. Any luck with you?"
"Not really. Help us look."
They spent another half hour in the small shop until they found clothes that Draco said would be alright, even if he seemed disgruntled about them at first. Once they had paid, they left to catch up with the girls and Ron.
The dress shop was quite big and also very full. Many of the girls from all three schools were browsing for their perfect dress. The amount of sparkly sequins in the shop was enough to blind a person. Neville was the one who dragged the other two to the back where Luna and Hermione were standing outside a dressing room waiting for Ron to come out.
Harry waved at the girls before wandering off to look at everything in the shop. They looked through the dresses. It wasn't until they stumbled to one of the sides of the store where corsets were carefully hung up on the wall. There were normal corsets, half corsets, and vests made for suits.
One of the vests would help tie their entire outfit together. They quickly paid for it and shoved it in the bag from the tailor's shop. Once they were done, they hurried back to the group where Ron was modeling a floor length black dress with a split up the side. Harry whistled teasingly at the boy who was pretending to faint into a laughing Neville's arms.
"I think this one looks the best on you. And it will look rather fetching with Harry's suit!" Luna was swaying back and forth excitedly, a pale blue dress draped over her arm.
"I don't know, this is pretty expensive."
"Don't worry about that," Harry stepped in before Ron could continue. "I'm paying for you and Hermione. No you can't talk me out of it and you're not allowed to pay me back."
Despite the grumbling, the group managed to get paid and left the shop easily. They decided to get lunch at the Three Broomsticks before hitting the sweets and joke shops on their way back to the castle. Overall, it was a great end to their visit.
Back at the castle, Snape was waiting for Harry. The dour man had promised to assist them with their runes box and seemed to be upholding his end of the bargain. House elves would bring the two their dinner down in the dungeon where they, along with Remus and Sirius, would be working.
Harry had forgotten how difficult it was to keep up with the potions master as they walked to his office. Curse the man's tallness and long legs! Despite this, they mostly kept up and they entered the office within a matter of minutes.
"Harry! How was shopping for robes?"
"Mind numbing. It took forever for Draco to stop complaining about every little thing wrong with my outfit."
"Well, what are you wearing?"
"You'll just have to wait and see like everyone else!" Harry stuck out their tongue at Siri while fishing the box out of their school bag. They also grabbed a package of magical clay they had gotten from an art shop in Hogsmeade. "Do you wanna hear my idea for my lock-box?"
The next ten minutes was spent with them explaining how they wanted to create a box with its own built in defense mechanisms. They had bought the clay to form a set of teeth on the inside as well as a set of eyes that acted like Professor Moody's. The rune cluster they were making had already been mapped out and just needed to be looked over by Remi and Sev.
None of them are quite sure when they all fell asleep. They had dinner and had been working on the box, which was coming together beautifully. It had started with Sirius, who was still recovering from an encounter with a horcrux, Harry had been informed and had scolded their godfather's lack of sense. Next was Remus, who Siri had been leaning against. Then Harry had fallen asleep hunched over the table. Severus was the last one, having thrown blankets over all of them, and moving Harry to be laying down, he dozed off in his armchair by the fireplace.
