Once arriving to the neighborhood Gary smiled at Ashley once Sawyer opened the door for the two

"thank you Sawyer" Gary smiled and helped Ashley out of the truck then grabbed her hand as he knocked on the door of the house to see Ashley's grandmother open the door
"princess!" she smiled hugging the girl tightly
"hi!" Ashley giggled then spotted her grandpa who she ran to with her gift

"happy birthday grandpa!" she giggled as Gary smiled lightly at the scene before her grandmother who was smiling turned to him
"you may leave now" she said sternly as Gary nodded
"y-yeah, uh bye sweetheart love you" Gary smiled
"love you too daddy!!" Ashley smiled before Angie's mother closed the door on Gary who sighed not liking the way his in-laws treated him

"we can go now Sawyer" Gary said after entering the truck with a devastated sigh

"so how's everything going sweetheart" Ashley's grandma smiled
"good!" Ashley giggled eating Mac and Cheese
"I'm glad, so everything okay with school and at home?"
"mhm, i love school!" Ashley giggled as her grandma wiped her chin which had cheese on it

"I'm happy sweetheart" she smiled
"yeah and home is awesome!! I love daddy, Crystal and Sawyer!!" she giggled
"oh and Mr. Ketchum!" she added
"who's Mr. Ketchum?" her grandma said after furrowing her eyebrows and looking at Ashley's grandfather
"he's my teacher!" she smiled
"and he works for daddy too!"
"oh I see" she smiled dismissing the topic

"have you down anything fun lately??" she then smiled after serving Ashley more Mac and Cheese
"uhm we went to a wedding recently!" she chimed
"and I made a new friend, oh! And daddy caught the garter and also Mr. Ketchum caught the bouquet!" she giggled
"I see does your dad plan on remarrying?" she asked sternly as Ashley thought for a second and then shrugged
"I dunno maybe if Mr. Ketchum picks him" she giggled once more
"sweetie why do you keep mentioning this Mr. Ketchum person?" Ashley's grandmother raised an eyebrow

"well because daddy likes him" Ashley blinked not seeing the problem
"oh okay, uh continue eating, Harold" her grandmother said to her Ashley's grandpa signaling to the hallway
"he caught a garter" she said to the man who sighed
"I think the Mr. Ketchum man is the one who he kissed at Sun Shores" he said
"that's so unacceptable" the woman shook her head

"I think we should drop it, I mean now that i think of it, maybe we are overreacting Gary didn't have fault in our baby girl's death he loved her. truly" Harold said with a sigh as his wife has a scowl forming on her face
"also Gary deserves happiness too"
"no" she said and made her way back to the kitchen
"Steph!" he called out in annoyance

"okay now it's time for grandpa to open his present!" Stephanie smiled at Ashley who giggled and clapped
"yay!"
"ah I love this!" Harold chuckled seeing a knitted jacket
"I'm glad! Daddy designed it for you" Ashley giggled
"I see, tell him thank you" he smiled gently
"oh and what's this?" he grinned seeing a leather jacket

"I remember you saying you wanted one so I got it for you" the girl grinned
"you have such good memory!" her grandpa chuckled hugging her tightly as she returned the gesture

After a couple minutes Gary had came to pick up his daughter and rang the doorbell
"I think your dad's here" Harold smiled at Ashley who smiled seeing her grandma open the door
"daddy!" she said running to Gary who lifted her up
"hey sweetie! How did it go?" Gary grinned at Ashley
"good! I had fun!" she giggled
"I'm glad" Gary said kissing her forehead then turned to her grandparents
"t-thank you, b-bye" he smiled lightly about to close the door until Stephanie spoke up

"wait, I want to talk to you Gary"
"oh okay? What's up?"
"alone, I don't Ashley here" she said causing Gary to clear his throat
"alright, here sweetie, go with Sawyer, he outside of the truck" he smiled as Ashley ran after giving her dad a nod
"so what is it you want to talk about?" Gary mumbled
"Ashley told us you caught a garter at a wedding" Stephanie started making Gary run his hand through his hair
