Chapter 9 - Sick Days

~ 3rd Person POV ~
After checking the ravenette's phone Paul then went back to his room
to be discreet about FaceTiming Gary and checking the ravenette's phone 
"hey" Ash smiled at Paul once getting out of the shower
"hey" Paul smiled as Ash went to his room to brush his hair

Once Paul went into the shower Ash went on his phone and noticed a phone call that was made to Gary which he knew wasn't him since he was showering, to see what's as going in he called Gary

"listen Paul" Gary started as Ash blinked
"Gary it's me . . . Ash" the boy blinked
"oh! Sorry i thought your were Paul" the man said apologetically as Ash smiled
"it's fine, I just wanted to know if a call was made to you a couple minutes ago" Ash said as Gary sighed
"yeah it was from Paul and it was a FaceTime call" Gary said as Ash nodded
"sorry about that, I was in the shower and had no idea, what did he say?" Ash blinked
"he bragged about how you supposedly kissed his cheek" Gary said as Ash sighed
"o-oh I'm sorry I didn't–" Ash started until Gary cut him off
"it's fine, I just hope he won't do that ever again, at the end of the day you know what your hearts feels and wants" Gary said once more as Ash nodded
"mhm" he hummed

After ending the call Ash waited for Paul to get out of the shower
once Paul was out Ash waited for him in his room sitting on his bed, with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face 
"h-hey?" Paul raised an eyebrow as he entered his room
"hey" Ash said coldly
"what?" Paul blinked
"why did you call Gary on my phone?" Ash scowled
"I didn't" Paul said as he walked into his closet as Ash followed

"Paul i may be a lot of things but I'm definitely not stupid" Ash crossed his arms
"Gary told me because I called him back, next time you call him behind my back maybe delete the phone call? Because I'm gonna find out" Ash scowled and was going to storm off
"well tell him to quit hogging you" Paul shot back
"oh please Paul he's not hogging me" Ash sighed and left

– Time Skip A Couple Weeks –

As a couple days passed Paul would go to the school and would see Ashley being dropped off but no sign of Gary which was confusing to him and as well as Ash
'I told him to back off but damn I hope he didn't take it too seriously' Paul would think to himself as he's see Ashley skip through door and give the chofer one last wave before he'd drive off
"morning Mr. Ketchum" the girl would smile sweetly and give the boy an apple or candy
"morning sweetie" Ash would smile back sweetly as the girl would take her seat

As the school day ended Ash would smile at the girl
"Ashley can I talk to you for a second" Ash smiled as the girl would go to him
"yes?" she blinked
"I've noticed your dad isn't dropping you off, or isn't at his office lately, what's going on?" Ash blinked concerned as the girl would smile
"he's okay, he's just running a fever lately and he's in bed for a couple days, Crystal says it may be the flu or something" she smiled as Ash smiled relieved
"oh okay, I'll go see him later okay?" Ash smiled as the girl nodded
"okay, see you then" she smiled as she hugged Ash and then ran outside to meet her ride home 

"here's the soup sweetie" Delia smiled as Ash asked her to make some soup for the man while he took a shower
"thank you mom" Ash smiled as he placed it on the table and continued to get ready

meanwhile . . .

"Crystal!" Gary yells before sneezing
"yes sir?" the maid says as she quickly goes to his room
"my head feels likes it's going to explode!" Gary whined as the woman sighed
"that's normal, it's because of your fever" she said putting her hand on his forehead
"oh my you're sweating" she said as she felt his beads of sweat on his forehead
"ugh I feel disgusting" he groaned
"it's normal, I'll bring you more soup" the maid said getting up
"no! I'm tired of soup i want something else" Gary whined as the maid sighed
"sir don't be stubborn it's going to help you" she said as Gary let out a whine
"it's so hot ugh" he said as he sat up to take his shirt off but the maid stopped him
"sir you need to stay covered, taking your shirt off can worsen your fever" she sighed
"why me" Gary groaned as the maid sighed at how dramatic he is
