DINNER WAS UNCOMFORTABLE. For Kate, at least. This was the worst dinner she had ever experienced within her twelve years of living.

Lucy was too excited and happy that she kept gushing about "Mr. J" (Edmund Pevensie the Just, if you get what she meant). Unfortunately, amidst your prayers to Aslan, Susan was able to hear you and the Valiant Queen.

"And who is this Mr. J?" She asked, gracefully sipping on her water.

"Kate's crush!"

"No one!"

"Crush? What is that?" Caspian asked with furrowed eyebrows, tilting his head a bit. Peter, however, choked on his vegetables as Edmund accidentally spit out the water he, too, was drinking. "Ah...Kate, you have a crush?" Even if Susan tried to act professional, she still had this teasing mix in her voice.

"Dear Aslan," The princess glared at Lucy, too embarrassed to meet anyone's eyes at this point. Seeing how confused Caspian is, Peter decided to explain the meaning to him, "Caspian...crush is when you like someone. Um, feeling attracted to them somehow."

"What?" Caspian's eyes widened. "But Katherine, you're twelve!" He cried out.

"It is normal for a young girl to have her first crush." Susan now was full on giggling, teaming up with Lucy. "I do not have a crush! It's just...I'm...nervous...uh, scared?" Kate tried to think of the right words to say, but it only looked like she was fooling herself.

"Well, all I could say is that there are only two possibilities." Peter sing-sang, clearing his throat, "If I may not be mistaken, unless you like dwarves and such, then you must have a crush on either me or Edmund."

"—No! Goodnight! Have a safe trip. Hope you all die—I mean not die! Please excuse me." Kate was sweating. She was actually sweating! Just because of this silly conversation? Oh does she regret telling Lucy. The Valiant Queen was never good at keeping secrets.

The last things she heard were Susan and Lucy giggling, Caspian complaining, and Peter letting out a few laughs himself. But no sound came from Edmund.

Peter must've thought she liked him, just because he had the title of the High King. That jerk.

With a shaky breath, Kate opened the door of the room which she shared with Lucy and Susan. The princess planned to go to sleep and try to forget about what happened this dinner. Besides, if she can't come, then she might as well distract herself.
