"ASLAN!"
"Lucy! What's wrong?" Kate sat up from beside Gael, worry written all over her face. Lucy tearily looked at her then at the paper by her chest, crumbling it.
"Lucy...that's..."
"I know," the Queen sniffled, avoiding her eyes, "I was horrible, Aurora. What I did was unacceptable and I-I..." Kate let out a sigh, pulling her into a tight reassuring hug, "Oh, Lucy, you're beautiful. You're unique, and you're you. That's what makes you most admirable and lovely. We love you, Lucy, I wish you could see yourself the way we do."
Chuckling softly, Lucy nodded and hugged back, feeling a little better. The Princess and the Queen pulled away and carefully went out of bed to not disturb Gael. Lucy threw the page in the fire, hearing a lion's roar when she suddenly remembered something.
"Aurora?"
"Hmm?"
"Tewkesbury took a page off the book too."
Kate visibly tensed. She took two lamps, handing one to Lucy then keeping one to herself, "Check on Edmund and Caspian, I'll check on Tewkesbury and Jareth." But just before the Princess could leave, Lucy called for her again.
"Aurora."
She stopped walking but didn't turn around.
"Did you have a nightmare too? Was that why you were awake?"
The Princess let out a shaky sigh, looking down at her feet and tilting her head, "I...guess you can say that, but I've encountered the green mist more than you think. It uses our deepest, darkest wishes and fears to go against us."
"What's your fear?" Lucy asked in almost a whisper. The grip Kate had on the handle of the lantern tightened as she faced the Queen with a small smile, "I saw me." The Valiant reached to gently caress her arm and gave her a comforting smile before leaving to go to the room where Edmund and Caspian are.
Kate watches as she leaves, turning around to glance at Gael before going the opposite way to Tewkesbury and Jareth's room. She took small careful steps, hearing the creakings of the wooden flooring every footstep of the way.
The ship continued to gently rock her from side to side, and on normal days, she'd gladly feel sick, but right now, something doesn't feel right. The whispers taunted her louder and louder as she was breathing heavily. She tried to close her eyes for a second to calm down and when she opened them, a figure in the dark scared her.
