"COULDN'T THIS HAVE WAITED TILL THE MORNING?" Complained Eustace, grumbling again and again under his breath. Sure, he volunteered to come, but that didn't entirely mean he wanted to. "There is no honor in turning away from adventure, lad." Reepicheep tutted, seemingly the only one who had enough patience for the blonde.

"Come on Eustace, it's kind of fun if you look at it in another way." Kate smiled then teasingly grinned, "unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless you're...afraid?"

"I'm not afraid of anything!" Eustace glared at her,

"Look, where is everyone?" Lucy questioned, following after Caspian and Edmund closely.

"Come on, jelly legs," Reepicheep climbed on Kate's shoulder, and the Princess lent out her hand to help him out but all Eustace did was ignore her gesture and try to get out of the boat by himself, "I'm capable of doing it myself. Oof!"

Watching as he fell and struggled rather than let anyone help him, Kate leaned back and watched him with full amusement, humming, while Reepicheep sighed. "And you're certain he's related by blood?" They heard Caspian ask. Lucy reached to hold Kate's arm, smiling gently before giving Eustace another glance and leaving together.

The island was eerie and awfully quiet. Kate gripped on her sword's handle, looking around the area along with Reepicheep, who jumped out of her shoulder and went on his own. A bell suddenly tolls, causing everyone to stumble backwards in surprise. Caspian lifts his crossbow, now looking upwards to see if anyone has been watching them.

"Reepicheep, stay here with Drinian's men and secure the place. We'll head on." Caspian ordered the noble mouse while the rest-including Eustace-continued on to examine the mysterious land, "If we don't come back by dawn, send a party."

"Yes, your majesty."

Kate shakily sighed, gesturing Eustace to walk first in front of her. She knew he didn't know anything about handling swords or fighting, so it'd be best if he was on their sight. The sky started to get darker and as they went further, the abandoned town only added chills into their bones. No one dared to speak; all in full alert that someone or something may attack anytime.

Eustace stopped walking and gulped, slowly peeking on the door that's barricaded by pieces of wood. "What's wrong?" Kate whispered, glancing at Caspian before back at the blonde boy. He saw a family that started right back at him, they all looked frightened but that didn't compare to how startled he is on the inside. Once again, he ignored the Princess and instead ran back to the group. Kate's eyes were still stuck by the door, wondering what he saw. She had the urge to peek too when Edmund grabbed her wrist, shaking his head and dragging her with him.
