This took me ages to write because it accidentally ended up being double the length of my normal chapters 😅 Instead of posting one giant chapter, or making you guys wait on a cliffhanger, I'm posting two chapters today. No-longer-a-virgin Levi wanted to take his time with Y/N, and I am nothing if not a Levi simp.

Y/N jerked awake from a nightmare that she had already forgotten. It took her eyes a moment to adjust to the dark room; even the light from the fireplace in the living room had gone down. Even though it only took her eyes a few seconds, she spent them in a panic trying to figure out where she was at. The mostly empty room came into view just as she noticed the weight and heat of someone laying behind her.

The memories of the night before (really just a few hours before) flooded her mind. She peaked over her shoulder to confirm who was behind her. He was laying on his side facing away from her, but she still recognized his black hair and pale skin. As quietly as possible, Y/N rolled over to look at him. Bruises clouded his back, and the yellowing edges were a reminder that it hadn't been long since he came back from that mission. It feels like it's been ages.

Y/N stopped herself before her fingers traced the outline of the bruises; she didn't want to wake him up. Instead, she rolled back over and slinked out of bed. Her thick socks muffled the sounds of her footsteps as she walked to the living room. She couldn't remember the nightmare, but it left her feeling shaken and unwilling to go back to bed. Not to mention, the dim light of the fire was more welcoming than the bedroom.

Just before she sat down on the couch, she heard Levi's horse whiney outside. She glared at the front door then sighed. Even though she would rather do anything else, she figured she should check on his horse because she knew Levi had hurried inside last night to get to her. Y/N picked up her boots and snuck out the front door with them in her hands. She wasn't sure if Levi was a deep sleeper or not, but she assumed he wasn't. To avoid waking him, she inched the door open and closed, then she slipped on her boots on the little porch.

The horse huffed and shook its head as she approached, and Y/N reconsidered checking up on it. She grumbled complaints to herself about the logic behind horses as transportation, but she did her best to comfort him and calm him down. Y/N looked him over in an attempt to determine if he was comfortable or not. Levi had loosened the saddle but didn't take the time to fully take everything off in his rush. Even his jacket had been abandoned on his horse, haphazardly wedged behind the saddle to keep it in place.

First, she grabbed the jacket and draped it over her shoulder. With it out of the way, Y/N's fingers struggled to undo the unfamiliar knot. When she finally got it, she heaved the saddle off its back and lugged it to the porch where she balanced it on the wooden railing. The small blanket was left on the horse because she felt bad that it was out in the cold. Though she had no idea if it would actually help him. Or if the cold was even bothering him.

Y/N snuck back inside and took her boots off at the door. The warm air in the cabin made Y/N shiver after being outside. She snuggled Levi's jacket to her chest as she walked to the kitchen. At the counter, she held the shoulders of the jacket with both hands and flicked it in the air to straighten it out. Her plan was to lay the jacket out nicely so that it wouldn't wrinkle, but when she flicked the jacket again, an envelope slipped out and fluttered to the ground. She watched it land at her feet then carelessly tossed the jacket onto the counter; worries about wrinkles long forgotten.

In any other scenario, Y/N would have simply slipped the letter back into his pocket and moved on. Knowing Levi, it would probably be some boring report about the Scouts that she didn't care to read. But her name was written across the wrinkled envelope in Levi's shaky handwriting.
