** Mitsuhide Akechi, vassal of Nobunaga Oda is tasked with the responsibility of testing Y/n's knowledge and "training" her brain. Y/n Oda is the cousin on Nobunaga Oda and was raised in Owari beside him. She is very smart but it was her complaints of boredom that had her sent to "school" and the teacher is none other than a slippery kitsune.**

.

.

It had been three days since Mitsuhide had began teaching and training The Oda Princess, Y/n Oda. Y/n knew great knowledge of fighting, riding and was quite well informed on the current history of Japan. Yet, Nobunaga wished to see improvement in all the areas, including some.

"You are quite the princess, princess," Mitsuhide said, eyes scanning over her completed quiz.

"Oh dear," the Oda Princess sighed.

Focusing on his tone of voice, she slumped back against the wall, sipping from her almost empty tea cup. Of course, the two were comfortable as ever, but she couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed he was ordered to test her knowledge. And there he was, standing before her, her knowledge in black ink, as he studied every stroke of the pen.

Mitsuhide was impressed with her handwriting. Impressed with her knowledge. Impressed with... her. As he looked over the test in his hands, he saw no error in her answers. Not a one.

"Why the worry in your voice?" the kitsune looked away from her paper to steal a glance at the bright smile of hers.

"Because, you never give a compliment, if that was a compliment, without teasing. So, I'm waiting for the tease, tease," her blushing face was hidden by the small cup.

Mitsuhide had been caught in the act, of course, just like Mitsuhide had always done, tease her. It was no surprise to the warlord. He did admire her for catching onto small details, though. And even looking away, he could already sense the blush tinting her face.

"You're so smart."

"Mhmm... I'm slightly hesitant to take such praise from you. Not because I think it's incorrect, or the fact you're smirking as you say it, but accepting a compliment is-"

"Accepting a tease?"

She looked up at him as he finished her sentence. The kitsune was staring at her. Amber eyes peeked over the paper.

"Exactly. You know my thoughts so well."

"Well, it's not like you wear them on you face so beautifully. It's almost like you purposefully put them on display for all to know, for all to discover."

Accepting the mans harmless teasing, she smiled. "Well, it's easier if people know what I think, then I don't have to say it. Saves my breath."

"Ah, but of course! I should have expected such a silly answer from you," Mitsuhide looked pleasantly amused.

"Are you saying I.. caught you off guard, Mitsuhide," she smirks lightly at him from behind the teacup.

"By that blush on your face, princess, I would say you were the one caught off guard."

"Mmm," she set her cup down, revealing the flushed colors on her cheeks.

She stood up, slowly walking over to where he stood. Her paper was still in his hands as he held it up to block the view of her. Normally, the teasing was one sided, but today she felt in an especially good mood. Before her mind had decided to tease back, she was already on her feet, grasping the paper from him.

"Ahh. All this talk about my blushing face... but why are we ignoring the blush on-" she gently poked her finger into his cheek, "your face?"

Indeed, Mitsuhide was caught off guard. There was no blush on his face. But, her eyes gave nothing away. He figured shortly after her warm finger left his cold face, there was no heat in his cheeks. The kitsune had fell for her little white lie.

"Oh, but don't worry. I love you too," she giggled to herself. "Have a nice night, Mitsuhide."

Giving the paper back, she turned around.

"Of course," his blank stare didn't faulter as he wondered if he was blushing now.

Watching her movements closely, he waited for the sliding doors to open, and as she stepped into the hallway, he began.

"Did she plan on leaving her bag with me? Is this an invitation to discover secrets she's hidden specifically for her teacher."

"Oh my-" the princess stumbled gracefully back into his chambers.

Of course, she grabbed her purse from the floor, where she had left it. With such attitude, she pressed it protectively against her chest, turning to leave, a hop in her steps.

However, before she could pass through the sliding doors, her foot caught an uneven portion of the tatami mat and she tripped, expecting to land on her face.

But she never hit the ground. Surrounding her was warmth. A small gasp escaped her when she noticed.. she had closed her eyes. Her small body twisted in his arms and she looked up at who was holding her.

Just as she turned her cheek, she gasped again. The smooth skin beside Mitsuhide's lips brushed against her nose. When she met his eyes, they were close enough to touch lips.

"Thank you-" she whispered

Mitsuhide maintained his composure as the woman in his arms squirmed. Against his chest, he could feel her heart racing. Buddum, buddum, buddum.

"But don't say anything..." the princess spoke quietly "I'm leaving before you can get started on more teasing."

"Oh, but of course, I was planning to tease you about this tomorrow, my little one," Mitsuhide smirks, finally releasing her.

Warmth left her body as he released her.. Cold air tickled her arms and chest. Suddenly she felt lonely. She wished to be teased by him all the time. Every moment with Mitsuhide was eventful, never a dull moment. A tingle of sadness crept it's way into her heart for the man she would soon miss.

"If only Hideyoshi saw how you tease me when no one's around..." she said turning back at him to grin. "Goodbye, tease."

Mitsuhide stood in the same spot for moments after she left. In fact, the woman left the doors to his bedchambers open, and yet he didn't advance towards the door. He planned on telling her the perfect score she received on her quiz as she walked out, but got tongue tied.

"Hideyoshi..." Mitsuhide lets the young samurai's name roll off his tongue, leaving a distasteful flavor after it.

Then, his eyes met her paper again. Never did he mention her perfect score. Keeping that thought in the back of his mind he walked over to slide his doors shut. Mitsuhide, too, felt cold as he released her. Something inside of him was craving warmth.

Striding across the room, he gently set the paper down on the spare desk he brought in for Y/n.

"I do suppose that is a sufficient reason to pay a visit this evening..."

The blushing kitsune didn't realize just now gentle his smile was as he turned to stare out the door the princess had just left through.
