˗ˏˋ °•*⁀➷♡- The room was quiet. Miles was still in her arms, occasionally shaking and sniffling. As she held him, she thought over all the possible scenarios in her head. She wanted to handle this perfectly, just like how her Uncle did with her.

"Hey, are you alright? Can you stand?" She tapped his back softly, getting his attention.

"Yeah, I think so." He croaked out. She helped him get to his feet, taking some of the feathers and debris off of him.

"Thank you Y/N." He held on to the hand she helped him up with, not wanting to get rid of the comfortable contact.

"Don't mention it." He gave her a soft smile.  She motioned to the bottom bunk, urging him to sit down. The bed was plush under him, easing his tense muscles.

"Miles, I need to tell you something. Something extremely important." She sighed deeply and looked into his honey brown eyes.

"I trust you not to tell anyone else about this." He looked a bit afraid.

"Y/N, what's going on?" She leaned over to her bag, unzipping it to pull out a pink and black bodysuit. As she unfurled it, Miles' eyes widened.

"I am Flare, also known as the Inferno Spider." She said shyly, putting the suit back into her bag and finding a place next to him on the bunk. His mouth was agape. He couldn't believe what he had just heard.

"Why are you telling me this now? Why keep me in the dark?" He seemed offended. He clutched the hand that was holding hers a bit tighter, yearning for answers.

"I wanted to protect you Miles, I don't know what I would do if someone used you to get to me or Pe- I mean, Spiderman. I just wanted to keep you safe. I'm sorry if I made you feel shut out." Miles' features softened, rubbing his thumb over the back of her hand in a comforting manner.

"Hey, it's alright, at least I know why you missed so many hangouts over the summer." She laughed a bit, tapping the underside of her nose; a habit she had picked up from Teresa.

"But wait, that doesn't explain why you're telling me this now. Why risk your secret identity?"

"I thought you could use some help with your... problem. After my spidey sense went haywire on the floor over there, I somehow felt you were a spider, like me." He made a sound of understanding. He took his free hand and started to rub his thigh, presumably out of anxiety. Y/N new Miles was an overthinker. It's one of the many things they had in common. She had experience with your brain running haywire. She placed her hand on top of his.

"Relax. I know it feels crazy, but we'll get through this together." He looked into her eyes for a moment. There was a comfortable silence in the room as his eyes flickered down to her lips. She noticed, mirroring his actions. His gaze became hazy as he moved in closer. All of a sudden, the bed vibrated, taking her out of the trance she was in. He politely backed away from her, giving her enough space to check her phone. It was her Uncle Peter, saying he wouldn't have time at the moment. She knew this meant she had to investigate on her own.
