MINI AUTHORS NOTE
Hi, please read till the end because this is chapter has soo much information in it. You really don't want to miss out on it.

I entered the coffee shop; the smell of coffee filling my nostrils making me crave coffee.

The smell of coffee always relaxed and comforted me, but right now it wasn't working.

After I called my dad on the phone I half-heartedly asked him if he wanted to sit down somewhere and have a talk. He sounded surprised, but said yes.

So we agreed to go meet up at some sort of coffee shop to talk, and we agreed on the one close to my house.

Since it was less than a mile away from my house, I wanted to calm my nerves as much as I could before meeting him, so I walked over here. And the whole way I was walking here I was having a real hard time trying to imagine us having a fatherly-daughter-loving-relationship. I just really can't see it happening.

I looked around the shop, my eyes grazing through all the tables, looking for my dad. But I didn't spot him.

Did he bail on me? He better have not.

I took the opportunity to go to the front desk and order some coffee.

But I found the last person I thought I would find here.
Jace.

He was looking down at the register when it was my turn in line.

"How may I help you." he said punching something into the register, probably trying to fix it or something.

"Jace?"

He looked up meeting my eyes, giving me a smile. "Oh hey Malerie what's up?"

I smirked back. "Hi, I didn't know you worked here?"

"Oh, I just started working here a few weeks ago."

I nodded. "That's good."

"So what are you doing here?" he asked curiously.

"I'm meeting my dad here." I said looking down.

I looked back up, as I saw curiousness pass through his eyes. But he kept it to himself. "So what would you like to order."

"Umm, an iced coffee will be fine."

"You do realize it's chilly outside right." he joked.

"Shut up. Don't be stereotypical."
He cracked a smile and typed ice coffee into the register.

"Cream, vanilla, basic?" he asked.
"Vanilla and cream."

He nodded and punched in my order.

"Medium." I added.

"Gotcha. Okay that will be two dollars."

I payed and said bye to Jace, going to the waiting area.

After getting my coffee I looked around for any signs of my dad.
I sighed, after seeing that he still wasn't here.

I sat in an empty table near the door, so I wouldn't miss him walking in the door.

After ten minutes of waiting, I was starting to think if he was actually going to come.

I sighed as I looked at my halfway empty iced coffee.
If he isn't here by the time I finish my coffee I'm going to leave.

But my thoughts got interrupted by the sound of a door opening. Probably some random customer. But as I looked up I met eyes with the hazel-green eyed man.

"Malerie." he smiled.

I smiled weakly back. "Hi dad."

"I see you already ordered." he said seeing a bit of his nervousness shine through, as he sat down across from me.
