It was now winter break and over the past weeks, I found out that my dad stole money from his previous job before catching my mom cheating on him. So basically I got in a fight with him and we aren't on speaking terms at the moment.
But on the bright side my mom is starting to let loose now, and she's being more of a mom than a cop. I guess all she needed to do was to let all the truth out.
And Alex.. well, we've had plenty of "almost kisses" and it's been driving me nuts. And I was almost sure that he shared the same feelings as me because friends don't just almost kiss!
And sadly I've been way too shy and nervous to admit my feelings for him. Every time I've tried it just doesn't work out.
Maybe it just isn't meant to be. Afterall we were enemies since I could remember.
"But mom! I don't want to leave yet!!" I heard a kid shriek, making me jump in surprise. Yup, here I was, supposed to be doing work but I was daydreaming in instead. What a surprise.
Not to mention the cramps I was getting were annoying me to the max, making me moody.
Yep, it was that time of the month.
I looked over at the kid who was on the verge of crying because his mom said it was time to go. The poor lady was basically dragging her son out the door while the kid was throwing a tantrum.
The amount of kids I've seen do that while I've worked here is unreal.
Poor mothers..
"So I was thinking that tonight we should go out to the ice skating rink." Alex suddenly appeared, cleaning the counter.
I rolled my eyes. "And I was thinking that we shouldn't go." I retorted.
"Why?" Alex whined, pausing to look at me.
"Because after going rollerskating I wouldn't like to do something similar to that." I said.
"Well maybe you'll like iceskating better." Alex said continuing to clean the counter. "Afterall you did say month ago that you wanted to go iceskating."
I snorted. "Yeah, that was before I went rollerskating. And rollerskating is the same as iceskating. And I wouldn't like to bruise my butt again."
Alex laughed. "Come on Malerie. You never know, maybe you might like it better this time." he said finishing cleaning the counter.
"Might." I pointed out.
"I'll pay."
"No i'll pay."
"So you will come?"
"Only if I pay."
He rolled his eyes. "Fine, as long as you come."
"Mhm whatever."
"What am I being too cheesy for you?" Alex joked, poking me.
I poked him back. "As a matter a fact, yes. Yes you are."
"You know you like it though."
"Nope your wrong. I don't. In fact I hate it so much I'm gonna leave you and go attend that customer." I said pointing behind him.
"Tonight at seven." Alex smiled.
"Alex we leave work at the same time." I pointed out.
Alex scoffed. "I know but you need to get ready don't you?"
"Okay fine. Now stop distracting me I need to go attend a customer." I said.
"Mhmm."
