Chapter 16

I woke up by the feeling of someone poking me.

I groaned forcing my eyes to open.
I saw my mom staring down at my face with a blank expression.

I looked over at my clock. It was 10:30A.M. It's too early on a Sunday to be dealing with this.

"What." I said looking up at her.

"Don't you have somewhere to be."
I thought about it. I didn't plan anything today.

"No."

"Does someone by the name of Alex ring a bell?" she asked giving me a look.

I rolled my eyes. "What about him."

"I got a call from a guy named Frank last night." She said.

My eyes widened. How in heavens name did frank get my phone number?!

"He told me that you and Alex are doing a play and that and he's trying to teach dance to you two. But it wasn't working out because there was no trust between you guys." she said looking me straight in my eye.

I sat up leaning against the headboard of my bed.

"Is that all he said?..." I said avoiding eye contact.

"Yes he also mentioned that you and Alex are supposed to spend a day together today, and that it has to happen, no excuses."

I sighed. "Your gonna make us spend the day together aren't you.."

"Yes, indeed I am!" she said smirking. "It's about time that you two start to get along and be friends."

"But mom we already get along.. kinda. I mean we don't hate each other like we used to. I mean, at least I think that way." I said not sure if we were even considered acquaintances.

"Well you two need this time to become friends. And I don't want you to come back until you become friends. Now get out of your bed and get ready."

I groaned as she pulled off my covers and walked out of my room, leaving me in silence thinking about how I really don't want to spend my Sunday with Alex.

I came to face with Alex's face.

I sighed. I was at Alex's door, forced by my mom to come and tell him to spend today with me.

"Hi." I said a bit awkward.

Alex has a flat expression. "Frank called your mom too didn't he."

"Yeah.."

"Malerie! Hello! How are you?! I haven't seen you in forever." Mrs. Pitch said suddenly appearing next to Alex in the door way.

I smiled. Mrs. Pitch's enthusiasm and happiness is so contagious it makes me smile.

"I'm good, thank for asking." I smiled.

"That's great." she said. "I after this day, I'm sure you and Alex will become good friends."

"Well see.." I said thinking about how awkward and terrible today was gonna turn out.

"Well how about you kids get going." Mrs. Pitch smiled.

Alex grabbed his coat and we made our way out of his doorway.

I started walking towards my car when I heard Alex speak up asking "What are you doing?"

I looked as him as if that was the stupidest question ever. "Walking to my car."

"No. Lets go on my motorcycle."
