The days after the play I spent my time under my covers, rolled up in my bed, spending time on my phone and laptop.

I was avoiding my mom at all cost now. Even though I wanted a solid explanation, I didn't want to speak with my mom at all. And when it was dinner time I would usually eat as fast I can, and dodge conversations by shrugging and shaking my head yes or no, then go into my room.

The school gave us the whole week off since thanksgiving was on Thursday. So I didn't have to deal with school. But I wish I kinda did, then I wouldn't have to deal with seeing my mom give me a concerned expression.

This wouldn't be happening if my mom would actually knock on my door for another reason, other than announcing that dinner was ready.
On Monday I had a real conversation with my mom. Or more like an argument. A big one.

Once I got food and sat down at the table, my mom gave me a determined look. "You need to get a job."

My head snapped up, meeting my moms eyes. "What." I snapped.

"I don't want you to be slacking around all this week." she said taking a bite of her mashed potatoes. "Plus it's about time you get a job." she finished off casually.

"Mom, I'm fine I don't need, or want a job." I said trying to control my temper.

"Finally, you've said more than three words."

I rolled my eyes, and took a bite of my chicken.

"But I'm serious Malerie."

"I am too." I retorted.

She gave a glare. "Malerie, if you don't get a job, I will lock you out of your room. It's unhealthy for you to be in room all day, every day."

My stomach started burning in anger. She has key to all the rooms hidden, so I know she would.

"Fine. I'll sleep in the living room." I said annoyed.

My moms eyes widened, then narrowed. "Then i'll lock you out of the house."

My eyes widened, as my chest burned in frustration, mixed with disbelief.

"Are you saying your gonna kick me out if I don't find a job!?" I raised my voice. I saw Ariana cringe in the corner of my eye. I could tell she's trying to mind her business by eating.

She gave me her famous cold eyes, and nodded. "Yes. It'll be legal in a week or so, right?"
She was right. I was going to be turning eighteen in about a week, so it was totally legal.

I gave her a cold glare. "So your seriously threatening me into getting a job." my voice coming out harsh.

"Malerie this is for your good." She simply said.

My heart was beating fast, as the adrenaline was starting to kick in. I wasn't hungry anymore.of course my mom would ruin my appetite. I stood up from my chair starting to walk away. "Good, my ass."

"Malerie!" my mom scolded.

I ignored her and stomped up to my room.

Guess it's time to get a job.

The next morning I was rudely woken up by my mother at nine in the morning telling me to get out of bed and meet her in the kitchen, and dressed out of my pajamas.

I grumpily went into the shower, and changed clothes, not wanting to talk to my mom. But I had no choice, did I?

Once I was done getting ready I went downstairs and went to the kitchen. My mom was at kitchen table clearly waiting for me.
