Jorge was about to explain what happened earlier and she was about to apologize but she had no time to do so since they already arrived at the Pasig City Hall and local officials are waiting outside for Leni's arrival.
"Ma." Jorge called Leni before she went out of the van
"Mag-uusap tayo mamaya, Jorgina." Leni told her and the door of the van was opened
Leni went out of the van and smiled as she faced the people. She is not angry with Jorge but she cannot explain what she felt when she saw Risa kissing her daughter's forehead.
"Siguro ipinagdadamot ko lang ang anak ko sa iba dahil matagal ko siyang hindi nakasama." she convinced herself
Leni was greeted by the local officials and staff of Pasig City Hall. Jorge was walking behind Leni as if she is one of her staff and not her daughter. She witnessed how her mom mingled and talked to politicians.
"Ang galing naman ng mama ko." Jorge thought to herself
She is just following her mom wherever she goes. When the vice president was talking to Mayor Vico, the young mayor noticed her and looked at her. When Jorge met the eyes of Mayor Vico, she suddenly looked down because she was shy.
After talking to Mayor Vico, Jorge was about to go out of the office when Leni called her.
"Jorgina." Leni called
Jorge turned around and faced her mom.
"Yes po ma?" she said and the people left in the room looked at her surprised
Jorge cleared her throat.
"Yes po, madam?" she said again
"Hali ka dito." Leni said and she walked towards her
"Mayor Vico, this is Jorgina." Leni told the mayor and looked at her
"Pleased to meet you po, mayor." Jorge said and reached her hand over to the mayor
"The pleasure is mine, Miss Jorgina." Mayor Vico said and shaked hands with Jorge
"So, you are a volunteer from Bacolod. VP Leni told me." Mayor Vico said
Jorge's facial expression change when she realized that her mom introduced her as a volunteer and not as a daughter.
She felt a tingling sensation in her heart.
"Uhm. O-opo." she answered stuttering as if she is convinced on what she is saying
"Ang sakit." Jorge said aloud
"Ano ang masakit?" Leni asked worriedly
"Masakit na naman po ang sikmura ko. Sorry po. Excuse me." Jorge made an alibi and escaped the room
"Ang sakit sa puso, taena." Jorge said while walking
Her tears started to fall from her eyes and her vision became blurry. She continued to run away and hid from her mom's bodyguards.
She managed to reached the cathedral while crying. She went inside the Our Lady of Visitation Chapel where no one is praying. The masses are over so she has time to sit down in front of the Blessed Mother and tell her all her heartaches.
Jorge cannot say anything since she was crying in pain. Not a physical pain but the emotional one.
"Maarte na kung maarte, emo na kung emo. Wala namang makakaintindi sa sakit na nararamdaman ko. Masakit kayang ma-deny ng sarili mong mama. Kahit na indirect denial yun pero masakit pa rin. Akala ko ba tanggap ko na. Akala ko ba alam ko na kung saan ako lulugar. Alam ko naman na hindi pa ako pwedeng maipakilala sa publiko pero bakit nasasaktan pa rin ako?" Jorge said silently in front of the image of the Blessed Mother
Jorge waited for her tears to dry and for herself to calm down before standing up. She has been receiving several calls and texts from her mom but she put her phone on Do not Disturb mode so that she cannot receive any notifications.
When she was about to go out of the chapel, a priest approached her.
"Good afternoon po, padre." she greeted the priest and she reached for his hands to do an honoring-gesture (pagmamano)
"Kaawaan ka ng Diyos, anak. Hinihintay ka ni madam VP sa office ko." the priest told her
Jorge was surprised at what the priest said but she still followed him into his office.
When they arrived in front of the priest's office, the priest held the doorknob.
"Nasa loob siya, mag-usap sana kayo ng maayos." the priest told her and opened the door
"Thank you po, padre." Jorge thanked the priest and she entered the office
The priest then closed the door.
When Jorge entered, she saw her mom sitting on the chair with her elbows resting on the table and her hands on her forehead.
When Leni realized that she was already inside, she immediately stood up, went to Jorge and embraced her.
"I'm sorry." they said simultaneously
Leni then cupped her face.
"Anak, I'm really sorry that you have to go through this. Hindi ko alam kung kaya mo pa bang maghintay ng 3 months. Alam kong palagi kang masasaktan sa mga ganitong sitwasyon at wala akong nagagawa para ma-ease yung sakit na nararamdaman mo. I am sorry for denying you in front of other people." Leni said sincerely
Jorge looked at her mom's beautiful black eyes and her thick black eyelashes. She can see sincerity in her eyes and she felt sorry for the pain that she is causing her because of her sudden outbursts.
"No ma. I am sorry. Maybe I am too selfish or too eager to be known as Jorgina Amalia Robredo. I promise, this is the last time that I am going to throw a tantrum because you did not recognize me as your child in public." Jorge said and she started to cry again
Leni wiped her daughter's tears off.
"Just please be patient, anak. The time will come that you will not be denied in public anymore." Leni told her
She paused for a while and kissed her daughter's forehead. The spot where Risa kissed it earlier and then she continued.
"Baka ikaw pa ang magsawa sa atensyon ng mga tao." Leni joked
Jorge chuckled at her mom's joke.
"Tama ka ma. Medyo malala lang po talaga ang mommy issues ko kaya ganito po ako mag-react. Sorry po talaga. Sa ngayon, I will cherish the time na walang nakakakilala sa akin." Jorge said agreeing with her mom
"Sorry din po pala kanina noong papunta palang po tayo. Inasar ko kayo ng inasar tapos hindi ko pa sinabi ang dahilan kung bakit bigla akong napa stop the car." she continued
"Lesson learned: Tell me what's happening with you, next time ha. Mama's always here. I love you, bunso." Leni said and embraced her daughter again
Jorge embraced her back.
"Wait. Paano mo pala nalaman na nandito ako?" Jorged asked her
"Naka turn on ang location mo sa phone pati ang Find my iPhone mo kaya nalaman kong nandito ka." Leni told her and they went out of the office together
