Apologetic Love

"Chishiya". You whisper

Although he was sitting on the edge and you weren't a fan of heights you sat beside him, it was closer than usual but he didn't move away so neither did you.

"What do you want." He muttered as he pulled his earphones out and placed them inside his pockets.

"I spoke to Kuina." You sighed as you looked up at him.

"And"? His voice was full of irritation.

"She explained to me what you were talking about. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry for saying all of those things. I didn't mean them. I was just angry, angry at the way you are. I'm still mad that you didn't think I could survive but I'm sorry. You aren't empty. You're smart and you were kind enough to help me back here last night, you cared enough to change the sheets. You aren't empty. You aren't worthless. You heard the desperation in your voice but you didn't care because, in all honesty, you were desperate, desperate for him to forgive you."

"You don't have to apologise. You weren't wrong. "He lets out a light chuckle but the sadness in your heart.

He turns around and walks away. You turn around and stare at the dark city. You knew apologies wouldn't work on Chishiya. Although he was a mystery to you, you were sure of a few things. He had feelings although he didn't let himself acknowledge them they existed, he would always choose himself, he didn't want to die, he believes he knows everything, and nothing affects him, death and fear are things he doesn't concern himself with, he's extremely smart and he's not cocky but he's confident and although he would sacrifice others to save himself he wouldn't hurt someone for fun.

Despite knowing all of this you couldn't understand him at this moment.  If he didn't care he would have stayed and if he cared he wouldn't have let you talk to him.

After 5 minutes it became clear that Chishiya wasn't coming back and you decided to leave it until tomorrow.

You are surprised when you return to your room and see Kuina still there sleeping. You smile at the sight as you go to shower although today was slow you needed the time to think. You turned the lights off behind you hoping Kuina wouldn't wake up.

As you go to climb into the shower you notice a bruise forming around your wrist from where Chishiya had grabbed you. You lightly trace it with your fingers before stepping under the water.

You don't spend too long in the shower, it is late and you need rest. Once you had gotten dressed you slid into the bed next to Kuina and laid on your side.

You internally screamed when she mumbled "Hey."

"Hey, you fell asleep and I didn't want to wake you." You whispered back turning to face her.

She sighed as she nodded. "How did it go with
Chishiya?"

This was the question you did not want to answer."He walked away from me, he told me how much he didn't care and then he left. He gave me a nice little bruise though." You point towards your wrist and you hear her whine.

"Where did he go?" She sighs sitting up.

"I don't know he walked off the roof quickly. Maybe to his room. Why?" You question her as she climbs out of the bed.

"Because I know Chishiya even if he doesn't want me to. If he hurt you then he's probably not okay. Not that anyone would know the difference he could be on fire and his face would remain with that smug look across it." She chuckled as did you.

"Kuina he wanted to hurt me. He didn't care about it. You're wrong in believing he cares about me either."

She holds up one of your sweaters "Can I borrow this?"
