You stopped by Arisus' room, letting him know of your plans and your impending discharge. He gives you the names of his friends and their addresses, Karube and Chota, as he asks you to find them.

He held the same hope that you did, that the death in the borderlands wasn't real.

It was difficult to say goodbye to An, despite it only being a short-term goodbye it still hurt. You truly cared about her.

Chishiya was worse, mainly because he didn't care. He wasn't cold towards you, he wished you good luck but it wasn't him.

It wasn't the man you loved.

You left the hospital with a cheap backpack slung over your shoulder, it was given to you by the doctor as he handed you your discharge papers. It contained the clothes you had worn there, the toiletries you had used, some medication and a small first aid kit.

It eerily reminded you of the bag Chishiya always had packed in case of an emergency.

The sun hit you the second you stepped out of the hospital, you took in the building. It didn't look how a hospital was supposed to look, the sign read medical centre but the building itself looked run down. The almost derelict outside does not match the freshly renovated inside.

You made a note of the address as you headed towards the bus station the nurse had directed you to, they had given you enough money for a bus ticket along with a map to help simplify your journey.

You'd yearned for freedom, you'd spent weeks desperate to return home but now you were it was too much.

Everything was so loud, cars drove with no care, and people walked up and down the street, shoulder brushing as they walked past you. The world was normal, everything was normal, yet you couldn't stop jumping at every minuscule sound.

You carefully walked your way to the bus station, your steps hesitant as you tried - and failed - to readjust to a world you no longer felt that you belonged in. You barely recognised the city, growing so used to the dark, almost faded, version you had been trapped in for god knows how long.

"C-can I have one ticket please?" You asked the driver, handing over the money through the plastic door carved on the window.

The driver looks at you dumbly before grunting. "To where?"

You jump at his voice. "Oh um." You glance at the map checking what stop is closest to your apartment, you tell the driver and he takes the money, handing back some loose change and your ticket. "Thank you."

You take an empty seat, the bus isn't busy. You watch as you are driven through the city, stopping every now and again when someone gets on or off but for the most part, the journey is quiet.

The city looked different, maybe the time you'd spent in the borderlands had warped your perception, it probably had but still, it was weird. Despite it being the place you had grown up in and spent the entirety of your life in it felt as though you weren't supposed to be there.

Like the world had changed, had grown, and you no longer had a place in it.

You only recognised it was your stop when you caught a glimpse of the small supermarket you would frequent daily, you hopped off before the doors could close with a quick thanks to the driver.

It felt as though you were experiencing Deja vu as you climbed the stairs to your apartment, the elevator out of commission with a small sign reading that it was to be repaired later that day.

Your apartment smells stale, with a scrunched nose you opened a few windows before cleaning out your refrigerator, the appliance filled with rotten food.  Everything seemed to be exactly the way you left it, the way you left it when you were pulled into the borderlands.
