Chishiya was freakishly good at uno. He had won 4/5 games and you were sure the game you had won he let you win out of pity. "I thought you said I was going down?" He laughs, shuffling the cards.

"Shut up. You cheated." You pout. "Can we go sit? My arm hurts."

"I'll make us something to drink, go sit on the bed." He helps you stand from the floor, ensuring you're stead before making his own way to the kitchen.

"Don't drug me this time." You shout after him, dragging your feet as you walk to the bedroom.

The alone time, even for a moment, allows you a chance to think about the happenings of the past few days. One thing you hate about this world is how everything goes so fast, every day has to be spent the right way because everything could end in an instant. You were thrown off by the sudden change between you and Chishiya but you welcomed it. It was nice to finally have some clarity between you, even if it did take weeks of hostility, arguments, you being shot, facing death together and living in a tiny hut with one another. You hated this world but you were thankful for the people you'd met, the friends you'd made and the love you'd found.

A familiar scent had you looking up at a smiling Chishiya, holding two cups in his hands.

"Hot chocolate?!" You shouted, all but jumping over to the beverage. "Are you serious?"

"I found some I thought I'd save it for whenever you inevitably annoyed me beyond a human extent BUT I think I can share. Don't go looking for it though I've already hidden the box." He laughs but something tells you he isn't joking, the idea of Chishiya rushing around looking for a place to shove his most prized possession makes you want to burst at the seams with laughter, instead, you took the cup with a thankful nod. The smell of it hit you before you had brought the cup to your lips, once you did it was like magic and for a moment you could almost imagine being back in the real world.

"It's so good." You groan, shuffling back to sit on the bed, Chishiya a few steps behind you.

"I have something else too but I'll save that for another day." He takes a sip of his own drink, carefully resting on the edge of the bed, a little too far away.

You sit in silence for a few minutes, both enjoying your drinks. It's nice to not be alone. "Do you have friends? In the other world?"

"So you want to get to know me?" He places his mug on the table beside the bed.

"You never really like talking." You frown, thinking back to the nights when he would stare at you with disdain, words empty and cold. "You never really liked much of anything."

"I-" he starts, closing his mouth as soon as he opened it. "It's not that."

"I know, friendship, emotions, love, to you it makes you weak." You laugh it off, the pain darkening your heart begging to be acknowledged but as usual, you push it down further. "You are who you are Chish."

"I am. I have my reasons." He states, clicking his tongue. "I didn't want to like you but you grew on me, I won't apologise for how I was back then, nor for how I may be, survival is my main concern which is why I can't be in any more games with you. You have enough days on your visa to wait it out, I will choose myself if it comes to it but I don't want to see you hurt so I will do whatever I can to keep us safe. Don't put me in a position to choose myself because I will." His honesty wasn't lost on you, the underlying message spoke loudly.

Don't get hurt.

"I don't hold the same sentiment, if it comes between myself and you, I'll choose you because I'm sure you do whatever it takes to get out of here and I have a promise to keep. If something happens to me Chishiya I need you to keep this promise for me." You look at him, needing him to see how serious you are.
