"I care about you too." You whispered, your heart racketing against your chest. "I really do Chishiya."

He pressed his forehead against yours for a moment longer, his breath heavy. "Let's go."

"Okay, where?" You asked, stepping back as he released your shoulders.

"There are a few stores a little further out, we could walk to the edge of the games, it's likely the shooter won't come that far out we will have to take back roads, we could stop in the house to gather whatever is there. Anything else we will get on the way." You watch as he packs up the medical gear back into the small pouch of the backpack. "Are you okay to walk?"

"I'm yeah, fine." You mumble, the pain slightly kicking in. "We can take the road behind the church a few minutes away, my dad took us a few times as kids."

He looked at you almost as if analysing your opinion before nodding his head, and slipping the straps over his shoulders. "You never talk about your dad."

"You never ask. Besides what's the reason for telling a story that holds no good." You shrugged, regretting it instantly as your arm roared in a dull pain.

"Oh yeah, I should have mentioned that, don't move too much and you shouldn't have any pain." He chuckles.

"You couldn't have mentioned that before?" You hiss, cradling your arm.

His gaze is empty. "I could have I just didn't, besides I didn't realise I had to state the obvious. Stay here and let me check outside."

"Whatever." You groan, resting carefully against the wall.

You watch as he ducks his head outside the emergency exit, the electricity somehow disabling the noise of the alarm usually accompanied by the opening of the fire door. "It's clear we can go just stay low and be quiet until we are a little further out."

You watch the floor as you walk over to him, slipping out of the ajar door. "Do you think he is near?"

"I doubt it. There are no rules he can go whenever he wants, he is probably looking for the most populated area. The only way to stop him is to probably kill him but with all those guns it seems impossible."

The faint sounds of gunshots linger in the air, the city smelling lightly of iron, of blood. "So what we head back to the house and then mountain climb? I think Usagi would be a better fit for that. Don't you think we should find everyone else first?"

"That would be pointless. We would have to go back to the city and we would put ourselves and everyone else in danger to try and find them. Being in a group bigger than 2 is a risk, even us being together is a risk." He explained, that although his eyes were trained on the plainest of things such as the overgrown greenery or the rocks beneath his feet it was easy to see he was aware of everything. Anticipating the worst with every step.

"I guess you're right, I just worry. Do you think they are okay?"

"How am I supposed to know, I couldn't really care." He shrugs, frowning.

"Seriously why are you such an asshole? I refuse to believe you were born like this." You huff, kicking a stone at him. Regardless of the childishness of the action, you felt it was very much deserved.

"Because the world isn't as good as you like to believe it is, you have misplaced hope." He laughs lowly, shaking his head In bemusement. "It's adorable actually."

"I would take that as a compliment if It didn't sound so condescending. The world has good you just have to know where to find it."

"If the world is so good why isn't your sister with you?"
