Caitlyn knows she should be resting, Vis snores helping anchor her to the bed, but she cant stop the craving of tea from settling in her throat, making it hard to swallow.
Her first attempt to get up, Vi stirs and nearly wakes. The second, Vi latches to her. The final time Caitlyn opts to carry Vi with her.
Taking calculated steps, she maneuvers down the stairs. Her parents are sat on the couch watching the news, each brandishing their own tea.
After Caitlyn passes them, Cassandra elbows Tobias in the ribs, speaking to him in their own language of eyebrows and lip twitches.
Tobias smiles fondly despite Cassandras judging. When Caitlyn goes to walk passed them again, Tobias takes the cut from her, not wanting her to want to worry about dropping it.
"Thank you." Caitlyn whispers, making her way back to her room. Tobias hums happily behind her.
